How Audio Books Changed My Life

I remember when I was a child growing up in Philadelphia, I would lay in bed and listen to E.G. Marshall Horror Stories - Tales of Mystery. This was my beginning fascination with listening to stories that seemed to bring the characters to life as if they were right in my bedroom. How have audio books enhanced your personal relationship with the written and spoken word.

I love audio books simply because I can listen to them while on my long commute to/from work. Or I can listen while I'm crafting.
I wish they'd do radio stories again. There used to be a classical station that played the old radio stories on Sundays. They're so much fun to listen to. All the different sounds they'd make to create the actions and effects. And the way they had to really make the emotions come through the words. I can't find that station anymore.

I do wish they had an audio station on dish network or the radio where audio-book lovers could pick and choose their favorite classics. I listen to them while I am writing, cooking, cleaning and travelling. I am an endless romantic when it comes to this type of genre.

I had realized awhile back that I could really enjoy radio programs, although I really haven't listed to all that many. About a year ago I started borrowing audio books from the library and I have really been hooked on them. It is amazing how you can get into a book through audio coupled with your mind. There have been a number of these books that I can hardly stand to put down. In addition, there is a lot of variety.
I have not only enjoyed this entertainment, but it has given me lots of material to think about.
Great topic.
