Hello evryone here Ji, I feel the way world was taken by spending huge amount on simple oath taking ceremoney involving bn USD, should have been avoided and created yet another history by saving this amount, by holding simple ceremony. Yet another thing taht comes to my way of thinking, if renovation couldbe avoided, when Global economy ha ssunk. Why not US too should think in terms of saving. Is it not simply pomp and show. Obama's popularity is not at stake. He hasto find out another way by doing this. Please share your views on this. may god bless you Obama and everybody here and have a great time.

To paraphrase a line from a famous movie President and Mrs. Obama can say "It's good to be President!" He can do good without using the hand-me-downs of others. How do you boost the economy if you don;t spend any money? Think about it.

True, it was a simple oath taking ceremony. But....and this is a BIGGGG BUT. This was our first African American President ever of the United States. He has been awaited for so long. We could not have two million people make their way to Washington DC by any means necessary and watch from all over the world and not have some pomp and circumstance. I do not think it was over the top. The expense was really on security and television coverage. So what are you complaining about. There was a lot of donated money. Many people gave $50,000 to the cause, so it did not all come out of the taxpayers pockets. After the last eight years, America deserved a party.

Hello my dear StarBright Ji, I am not against it all, it was a remarkable incidence in the Global History, so it has now been considered in our country with Myawati. But why did he follow hi sprecedors, if ceremony would have been little with less expenses, he would have added another creditable feather and became part of million over globe, who are below poverty line. Next, even if it was donated one, ssame money could have been utilised for better causes. Further, what is need of changing even sofa sets, is it because, they were being used by whites, then feelings remain same. He has to prove that he is not white and he would do for betterment. We have lot of hope around the globe. May god bless hima nd have a great time.

Some times you just have to go all out because it is a once in a lifetime thing - sort of like an Indian wedding (smile). Which, by the way is one of the most beautiful affairs I have ever witnessed.
