my winter holiday is here!! after all the exams i have finally got sometime off for myself. I am in russia and had been to the skating ring only once!! an outdoor one and i have a pair of skating shoes. hehe well before i am gone from this very cold country i hope to master iceskating... i plan to go ice skating for this winter break and train it now on.!! Hope you have some tips for me. Thank you!!

Don't look down, that is the quickest way to lose your balance. If you fall, try and land with a closed fist, that way, you should keep all your fingers if someone is skating too close to you.

I'm not a very good ice skater. I usually wind up holding onto the sides for dear life. Wear some kind of pants that won't get wet. Then when you fall down you won't freeze.

Basically ice skating is more or less like in-line skating. I've not tried ice skating in a "cold" country, hahaI've just skated in the rinks in the malls - happen to be where we come from ( same country ) so you should know what I'm talking about
