Do Facebook notifications annoy you?

My email inbox is flooded daily with Facebook notifications that have absolutely nothing to do with my activity on the site. I don't care of this person or that person responded to someone else's status. I don't want to receive a dozen emails in one hour from people adding to my green patch, asking me to be a pirate, or inviting me to events that are 1,000 miles away from where I live. I keep trying to find a way to reduce these notifications, but I'm stumped. Are you annoyed by numerous Facebook notifications?

I do get annoyed with all of the notifications that facebook does. But I learned how to turn most of them off so all I get is when I get a message, friend request or when someone writes on my wall.

I'm in general annoyed by facebook, but yeah the notifications dosen't make it any better :( I wonder if its possible to disable some of them!?
