People actually believed in "Fan Death"??

apparently a lot of people believe that if you fall asleep with the fan on it can kill you.. it will like cause you to suffocate or cause hypothermia etc.. so even the FAN companies have a warning on them to not leave them on because they can cause death! i have never heard of this.. you? isnt it odd on how some simple things people can fear for a long time?? have you heard of any silly things that supposively will kill you such as "fan death"?? please share!!

Really? Sleeping with the fan on will kill you? Cos the fan will cause hypthermia?
And sleeping with the air conditioning will not cause hypthermia?
Hmm... Interesting. I have never heard of or seen such a warning label on the fans I have in my home before. Heck, in fact, I have been sleeping with the fan on all my life cos it is cheaper than turning on the AC!

I have never heard about it either. I can't really think of anything else today because I have a splitting headache. I know that some people believe that if you fall in a dream and you hit the bottom you will die. That has not be proven true.

ive been sleeping with a fan on every night for decades now. ;checks vitals; yeah im still alive! explain to me.. how does air blowing on you make you SUFFOCATE? and itll only cause hypothermia, if youve got yer windows all wide opn in sub arctic temps.. then it isnt the fan that causes it, but the persons own stupidity. lawds, this is as bad as them email warnings that went out about them deadly gel candles that sposedly got so hot.. it caused a toilet (water & ceramic o.O) to EXPLODE! people need more common sense

a toilet to explode??? lol i missed that forward lol.. the only thing i can think of is that like the house i moved in had this ceiling fan on steroids and with me having asthma if i laid one way and the air hit me in the face it would mess up my breathing pattern or something but if i laid the other way i was fine.. but thats not suffocating me lol.. and thats prob all in my head!
