Melanin problem

for my biology class we get bonus points if we find out what the health disadvantage to having extra melanin in the body is. I've search everywhere and cannot find the answer. the only information i did find is cosmetological reasons for complications with laser surgery. but i need health reason. any help will be greatly greatly appreciated..gud day

I did several searches just now and can't find the one I found when I was writing an article about glaucoma. All I remember is that sometimes in young very active people, over production of the melanin that is responsible for the color of our eyes can concentrate and block the drainage ducts that allow the pressure in the eye ball to remain even. That wasn't how it was worded, I didn't use that in my article, and now I can't find it. Did you do a search for "melanin health dangers"? I'm sure you did, but I'm all out of suggestions.
