ah, holiday time. but its nearly to an end and the kids will be going back to school in 5 days. not that Im counting or anything. here in Australia it is the summer school holidays. they started about 19 december, and they go back on the 28 january. thats in nsw anyway. the different states are a bit different. and then if they go to private schools they get longer holidays. how do the holidays work where you are? i find these holidays are too long, and the kids get bored. we went away twice over this period, which was great and they had a great time, but the kids still seem to get bored. do you find that the holidays are to long? or do you prefer to have them home. dont get me wrong, i enjoy having them home, but after a while, with the fights, and carrying on between them, it gets a bit much. before we know it, they will be on holidays again. they get 2 weeks in april. the kids are looking forward to going back to school, as they are getting bored as well. they have all there school stuff ready, so thats good.

Here, the kids have had their Christmas break shortened as far as I know and Easter, lengthened. They broke up on the 19th December and went back on the 5th January, or at least my grandchildren did. It's the summer holidays which are long but then, yours probably have shorter ones as it's your winter. Ours have six weeks from about the third week in July to second week in September for summer. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

i think that most countries seem to have longer holidays in summer, i suppose it is hot to be sitting in a class room all day. our kids have 4 terms a year, broken up with holidays, with christmas being about 6 weeks and the others are 2 weeks each. well just over 2 weeks cause the teachers have a staff development day the day before the kids go back. We are having a really hot day today, and it is quite humid. but the washing is getting dry quickly which is good. best wishes to you and thanks for your response. take care

Hi Kay, so nice to hear from you. I hope everyone is well. How on earth do you manage to run your shop and get the kids away and keep them occupied? I do agree with you...I too think the holidays are too long. I would really like to see activity centres set up at the schools for the duration of the holidays. I think the teachers should supervise. They get far too many holidays.

we are all fine, thanks for asking. i havent got the shop open at present, due to a few different things, so i dont have that to worry about. but keeping the kids busy, its hard. i agree that the teachers get too many holidays. my daughter works in child care, and they get all the school holidays off as well. she gets quite bored. but she does a bit of baby sitting through these times which keeps her occupied. i agree with the activity centres. i can remember when we were young and my father ran a caravan park there was a group that used to come there and run activities for the kids. we had a great time doing the things that they organised. i know a lot comes down to insurances and getting people to do things these days, which is a real shame best wishes to you and thanks for your response. take care
