Cinnamon - Does It Really Help Blood Glucose Levels?

Some folks say to take cinnamon capsules when blood sugars are too high. In my experience, I've tried it, and I don't see much change. Does it need to be taken before eating, so it is already at work? Is one capsule enough? Can it be safely taken with Metformin? What's a safe amount for any given day? Is it true that cinnamon has an insulin-like component? If it really works, wouldn't it be a safe and natural way to manage blood sugar levels? Who has some answers to these questions? I'd love to read them.
