You can start a blog on myspace, it shows you how many page views you're getting, or on blogger, and on yahoo geocities, you can create a web page. then just look on line for a tracker, or a counter to put on your page to see how many views you're getting.

Regarding with driving traffic to your site, you can join your site in traffic exchanges, make sure those traffic exchanges that you will use are well trusted! I have some blogger tools in my blog, the link is in my profile. Maybe it could help you. Goodluck!

Blogspot is a great first platform to use for a blog. It is easy to use, and well explained. Blogs take work and time to get readers, they definitely are not an overnight success. You will want to register with blog listing companies, get backlinks from other blogs and work hard to promote it, in order to get readers. Also, blogs that are successful usually have 5-7 posts a day for months before they can slow down to a few a day or week. You will see many sites saying you can Blog To The Bank, but in truth, you can only blog to the bank if you have the time and energy to work your new blog 20 hours a day for 6-12 months.
