WHAT A HISTORICAL DAY when President-Elect Barack Obama was sworn in as the New President of USA! I was amazed at the multitude of the crowds, the people crying with joy and I said to myself.."Wow, imagine how it is going to be when Jesus sets His feet on Mount Sinai and all the peoples of the Earth will gather at the foot of the mountain!" Who would have ever imagined that a Black Man would become President and live in the Whitehouse that was built by black slaves! Quite an accomplishement and historical event indeed. But the question that remains in my mind..WILL RACISIM BE A THING OF THE PAST now that we have a black president? Some are suggesting that now that barrier of social prejudice against the blacks is now going to be in part a thing of the past. But we should ask ourselves are the political & economical mearsures the TRUE STANDARDS by which we should judge? Extraordinary measures were taken to protect the President Obama because there are people out there who hate blacks and are not happy that a black president was elected. It was said loud and clear that was the case. I remember that a van was stopped for something like a broken tail lite..not sure but just using an example..and the police discouvered that the driver was on his way to to assassinate Obama and he was in cahoots with 3 others which they arrested. I don't believe racisim will be a thing of the past and assassination attempts will be made against him. It was a historical event but it didn't and won't make racisim a thing of the past because racisim isn't only against the blacks, it's also against other races. Many believed that Sadaam Hussein was the Beast of the Bible prophesy and now that he has been put to death, they realize he wasn't. The same with racisim..it isn't over because a black man is president and time will tell if I'm right or wrong..but trust me I'm usually always right..lol

Dancingredfeather, racism, love, hate, prejudice, greed, in fact any human emotion, grows and lives in the indivdual. It cannot be stamped out by any single historical event. Even while President Obama is trying to change America for the good of all people, even while he declares there is no red America or blue or America, there is the United States of America, there is Newt Gingrich singing over the airways that he hopes Obama fails (meaning he hates a black man more than he loves the America he professes he wants to protect from the communists and the terrorists and anyone else who is non-white). Even as President Obama closes Guantanamo Bay there is a policeman in jail in Oakland California being held for shooting a defenseless young black man whom he and a fellow officer held down while taking him into police custody. Fortunately, they commited this heinous act in the presence of a large group of people on the subway who had cameras on their cell phones. It is coming to light that Bill Gates lied about his ability to find qualified Americans for jobs in Microsoft so he could obtain H1 visas for less expensive workers. This is one of the wealthiest men in the world. Greed and deceit go hand in hand with racism. I say this because the people that Mr. Gates hired were taken advantage of also. He hired them at substandard wages. He brought them into the United States as engineers and paid them less than half of what they were worth while he lined his pockets. Just because, in their country, they could live on much less money, he expected them to live on much less in America. This supports your theory of the racism against other races. Racism will never be what it was in the past. The world has gotten smaller and smarter. Racism will never be condoned by the majority. At some point it will always be revealed and stamped out. On the other hand, we will no loner be able to use racism as an excuse for our failure. We have other avenues available to us. That is our progress.

What a great response..Thank you. it is forunate that we have camera cell phones. I truly can't understand racisim. I am a native and was taught to love all races as we come from all one set of parents. Why anyone acts towards a person differently because of the color of the skin ..is beyond my comprehension but even when you read the Bible racisim existed also from the begining of time. Yes..one good thing that comes out of having a Black President, is that no one no matter what color they are can say ..impossible. I'm sure that it is God who placed him there to prove that. Thank you so very much for your comment..it is very excellent.
