referrals

I know this is an old subject but I need to rant. I have a few good legit paying sites that I do. Some may take a little while to earn on, but they are good sites. I only have 2 referrals here on mylot. One responded to one discussion and never came back. One was pretty active for a while but isn't really interested anymore. I'm not mad at the second one because she's explained to me why she isn't active anymore, that's fine. I also had one referral on one PTC site that I used to do (they recently disappeared), She was never active. I have 2 referrals on another PTC site (this one IS legit and paying). One has clicked 5 ads in a couple weeks and that's it. The other hasn't clicked on any ads. Why do people sign up under people as their referrals and then not stay active? If I sign up under someone, I atleast stay active until I reach payout and then quit. I just don't get why people do this. Maybe they should check out the site or ask more questions about the site before signing up. The only time I signed up under someone and didn't stay active was because we had an agreement that if I signed up for their soites they'd sign up for mine and we'd both stay active. The other person didn't follow through and I did. Has this happened to you? Have you done it to someone else? If so, why?
