I don't think it matters one way or another, I don't think our Lord Jesus would be very concerned about it.

Yap. You're right Jesus Christ never thought that. It was only made by man and passed to all Catholic believers. If you have bible in your place, read these following verses and know for yourself what are the consequences of this people making sign on their right hand. Kindly read these verses; Book of Revelation Chapter 13 verse 16 and Chapter 14 verse 9 to 14 PM me if you want more clarifications...

I dont think it is wrong to make the Sign of the Cross with the left hand, if the person is lefty.

I dont think there should be any confusion where lefty people are concerned...to them the left hand is what the right hand is to majority of us. They eat with their left hand and do everything else which we do with our right hand. So, if we are using our right hand to do the Sign of Cross, they will naturally use the left hand to do that Sign.

I'm really confused. I really don't know which is morally wrong but i think, as long as we don't have any bad intentions despite using the left hand, i don't see any wrong with it.

My guess is that most people do it with their right hand simply because they are right handed. Even though this seems to be changing rapidly, there are more righties than there are lefties. So, my theory is you will begin to see more people doing it with their left hand as the lefties begin to dominate the population.

One for sure was that. They are a member of Roman Catholic religion, and it was one of their doctrines. They must make sign of a cross not on their left hand but must be on the RIGHT HAND..(not unless maybe you have a problem with your left hand..)

Hello modstar! I think it's wrong but I don't know the reason why. I guess it would feel awkward if we use the left hand right. Well, let's just follow the norm.

Neither left hand it's not right. Why? Kindly read the bible if you have, the verses are; Book of Revelation 13:16 and Book of Revelation Chapter 14:9 to 14 Read for yourself and think it over; What are the consequences to those people making a sign with their RIGHT hand? What would happen to them? Maybe your one of the million people making sign of a cross either left or right hand? Kindly PM if you want more clarifications..

Its ok! There are no verses in the bible that tell us to use right hand only to use in signing of the cross. So maybe it depends where you are more comfortable of. I dont think also that sign of the cross is in the bible also, lol! I am catholic, if they implement it that way, then it is just ok as long as your not harming other people! Lol.

hi modstar! well i would not know really. i don't make the sign of the cross. i am a christian and believe in the holy trinity, but don't believe in making the sign of the cross as a sign of faith. for me, my faith in Jesus and what the bible says is enough. i don't need signing the cross on my person for that matter. so for me, the question is not relevant. take care and God bless you! have a happy weekend! :-)

I don't think there is anything wrong with using the left hand to make the sign of the cross... and i also do not know where this "should use the right hand" even started... so left or right... as long as one is sincere in doing it... it doesn't really matter for me...

If you're a Catholic man, you must do it on your right hand because that's one of the Roman Catholic's doctrines. Not unless you have a problem with your right. You're not maybe a true Roman Catholic if you would follow it...

I make the sign of the cross with my right hand. I was born and raised as a Christian. Well, I was also thought to make the sign of the cross using the right hand. But I think it does not matter what you use. The important thing is your faith and belief in God. There are people their who does not make the sign of the cross but still believe in God. So I think what is important is how we serve God and what we do as a Christian.

I have never heard of people who make the sign of the cross with their left hand. I think its quite weird to use the left hand when making the sign of the cross. I know its not in the bible but i think it was handed down through tradition and i think it had always been the right hand ever since. I think people who are even lefties use their right hand in making the sign of the cross. And i think it has always been the right hand ever since it was handed down from generation to generation. But i think we could also make an exception to those who could no use their left hand in making the sign of the cross, i think the church is really not that strict when it comes to that and its not like you would be punished for using your left hand in making the sign of the cross.

You never heard because that's one of doctrines being thought and must be followed by a Roman Catholic believers. Signing on the right hand even though a left handed is surely an identity of a Roman Catholic member. You can't read it on the bible because Christ never ever thought that. It was just made by a man. I was wondering why that is being followed by the roman Catholic when in fact that was not written in the bible? It's a little better for those some Catholics who are not following that signing on the right of left hand. Why this happened? It is because there's already a Prophecy on this written on the bible. If you have a bible in your place try to know more by reading these following verses; Book of Revelation Chapter 13 verses 16 and Chapter 14 verses 9 to 14 What are the consequences of this people doing this signing with their right hand? Just PM if you want more clarifications..

LOL

Neither the right hand. If you have a bible in your house or in your office, try to read these following verses and PM me in your reaction to this; Book of Revelation Chapter 13: 16 and Chapter 14:9-14; this all about people who are making sings on the left hand. I know you know whose this people signing with their left hand even though they are right handed... it's a Prophecy

I mean "NEITHER THE LEFT HAND" it's being thought that a person making sign of the cross is a symbol of a man being a member of a Roman Catholic belief...Even though if he's a left handed he must use his right hand because that's being thought as part of their doctrines...

i dunno but me I always use my right hand to sign of cross, and when I was a little my mom told me once that do not use my left hand whenever I do the cross sign,.. hmmm,.. I really don't understand it too,..

Have you seen anybody or your friend who is NOT a Roman Catholic made a signing of the cross? I think NO. And it's part of their doctrine, that they must do it on their RIGHT hand, never on the left even if you're a left handed...( not unless you have problem with your right hand..of course)

I am a bit confused now as one of the member here referred a certain chapter on the bible and I have read it as well. So does this mean by making that sign of the cross we are worshiping or accepting the mark of the beast.... I dont know much but this is what we are already being accustomed to do to make a sign on our right hand and if this is wrong then what is right?

I think that most of the left handed people are making the sign of cross with their left hand since their childhood.Wont God be accepting this as long as it comes from a pious heart.Think of the people who don't have th right hand at all.

I guess it has something to do with common symbolisms. We were taught to make the sign of the cross using our right hand because the right hand symbolizes goodness. The right hand is mostly associated with good things while the left hand is not.

I am not sure, I will give it a wild guess and said yes. (I am saying this because what if people get a medical condition where they can not use their right hand, I am sure God will understand)

I'm not sure why, either.I do make the Sign of the Cross with my left hand.I'm right-handed,but I'm also trying to use my left hand to the fullest.I have no idea if it's deemed wrong if you use the left hand when making the Sign of the Cross.

When I was a freshmen in high school,i usually make the sign of the cross in my left hand, because that's my nature.. But someone told me its wrong so i tried to learn it using the right hand. I think it doesn't matter if people will use their right or left hand. As long as they stick to what the society says, and there's always a room for change. Nevertheless GOD doesn't look how you made it as long as you acknowledge his way, and make your life valuable by touching other people's lives Ü
