Does the character Riley Adams annoy anyone else?

Ok, I haven't been entirely faithful this season to CSI. I admit it. I have missed a couple of episodes. So maybe I missed how this woman joined the crew and somehow became such an itegral part so quickly. Riley Adams comes off as a condescending, know it all. And this much I know, she just got there and Nick is sharing office space with her? Then on this weeks episode, she treated the new Doc with disdain. I wanted to kick her. Is it just me? Am I reading her wrong? I almost have to leave the room when her character is speaking and that's a problem with watching this show. Does she have any good points? Has she proven her worth in such a way that everyone has already grown so fond of her? Help, I don't want to have to drop watching this show!
