If I had the money to get one of the powerful and sturdy laptops - you know - the ones the FBI uses - those 3000+ Panasonic laptops - I would choose the laptop because I could get busy where ever I go which seems to more and more important now a days. But if I did not have the money - I would get a desktop just because it is easy to upgrade when I need to and if thee are problems I could fix it myself. It is hard to repair laptops - especially if they are not sturdy.

I can use either and I have two desk tops and a laptop. The only problem is that I am a touch typist and the key board I am using is a shaped one so if I go on another machine I find my speed slows down and I make more mistakes

Hello davido!I am very much dependent on the computer. It is in fact an indispensable thing for me. I own both. I have a desktop and I also have a laptop. When at home, I use my desktop computer. When in the office, I would either use my laptop or the desktop in the office. While delivering my lectures, I would use my laptop for my powerpoint presentations. When traveling, I depend on my laptop. I guess the choice would very much depend on the individual's need.

I've been using my laptop for years and so far i've had no problems with it.. it was a birthday present from hubby and i have no plans of replacing it with a new one.. i'm kind of a sentimental person, i really value things that are given to me, whether from a family or a close friend.. i like how my laptop works.. it's been helping me to make my life a bit easier.. and yes, having internet connection at my laptop is a plus too as it's been helping me to earn fair extra income to pay off some debts..

I would personally prefer a desktop. Why you may ask? The laptop may be portable but it doesn't offer the other great uses as a desktop. First of all you have better internet connection. Then I look at the laptop. The laptop is good also. You can take it to your school/college take notes in it etc. All in all I prefer a old fashioned pc desktop.

I would prefer a desktop 'cause I'm a careless person. I don't know how much it will cost to repair a laptop. But I do have one, the only problem now is that I can't pay for the monthly amortization anymore. I got my laptop through installment. So I have to surrender it voluntarily before they will take it away from me, it would be very embarrasing. Well aside from it, I have more reasons why I should keep my desktop than my laptop. =)

i thnk both hav there own advantages. however the laptops look to be more favourable since modern laptops can run anything that can be run by desktop. just to say, nowadays desktops are implementing laptop hardware to make them more power efficient. looking at the crowd, one can say that laptops will become one of the common household product preferred by everyone as against a desktop btw i also prefer a laptop due to its mobility and efficiency

Well I do love desktop but I will be selling my desktop by the end of the month and buy a laptop because I am too busy for transportation and I'll be needing it.Another reason is that desktop consumes more electricity while laptop, you can just charge it and there you go.Both are really nice but for me Ill choose laptop..

Personally, I prefer a desktop, mainly for its larger screen. Secondly it is rarely possible for me to carry a laptop going around any more. But for the youngsters, it might be more convenient to have a laptop, for business, and for travel as well.

My family--we all prefer laptops, now. Back when I was in first grade we totally loved desktops, but then they crashed on a regular basis. It's just in these past few years that we opted for laptops because: one, we're pretty on-the-go people, and we [I, most of all] want to take the computer along, and two, we can all buy laptops of our own. We don't have to share anymore. Woohoo!! =) As of now, we have two laptops at home: mine, and my younger sister's. We're totally in love with gadgets, so it makes perfect sense.

I have to say I prefer the laptop for a BIG reason. Our computer room is off limits to our 1 year old daughter. It's where we keep the cat's food, water bowl, and litter box. It's the one room that is completely off-limits at all times! It's also where my desktop computer is! Since she has been getting around well, it has been off-limits for me too. I was suddenly able to get online at any time during the day when my husband got this laptop! I'm very happy now!

Hi! I think it depends on where will you use the product. From my experience a desktop is more "hardy" as compared with the laptop. Also it allows you to install a lot of applications than a laptop would normally allow. It is also more bulky so it's more difficult as compared to a laptop to steal. Moreover it is more cheaper so if it gets broken or stolen it is not that "difficult (emotionally)" to replace. On the other hand,if you are constantly traveling or you prefer your gadgets handy, the laptop is good to use. Piece of advice: It's better if you have both :).

If I had to choose only one I would probably go for a laptop due to the fact that it is much more convenient. But it is quite nice to have a desktop. Right now I have both luckily enough and I like being able to work on different computers when I want, it keeps things quite interesting!

I will always go for laptop just because of these 2 reasons: mobility and power saver (I'm talking about my electricity bill :P)... desktops aren't like that.

i prefer laptop because because i can take it everywhere and it consumes less power. Desktops are ideal for playing games, watching movies and to enjoy music. I can say that we can work for hours together on a desktop but we can not sit in front of the laptop for a long time. We have many stylish laptops to choose many companies are offering Laptops at a good price with original operating system. So its better if we go for the laptops or desktop depending upon our kind of use.

It's not really a matter of which is preferred: Laptop or Desktop... it's a matter of use. If you just use your computer at home, and you don't need to use it on the road, then Desktop is the right one for you. But if you go outdoors a lot, and do businesses on the road, then Laptop is your choice. But I really prefer Laptops this days, their mobile, so you can use it anytime anywhere. And the technology now keeps on improving so some laptops will have high capacity than desktops. It will cost a lot though to make ur laptop more of like a desktop computer, the internet... add-ons... the memory, RAM and all those.
