Do magnets stick to platinum? We bought a new fridge yesterday and it's going to be delivered on Tuesday. Our old fridge is a "normal" metal one, but the new one will be platinum. We've never had platinum before so we're not sure if our magnets will still stick to the fridge. If they wont stick we're going to have to figure out where to put all the magnets we have on the fridge... One does belong on my car and as soon as I can wash it it'll be taken care of. But the rest we really like up there...
Please help us out here. If magnets don't stick to your fridge, where do you put them? Or are you just not a magnet person?

reiny, I wonder if your fridge is really made of platinum or if the metal is something else but the color is platinum because I always thought platinum was very expensive. I a web pages with the prices of platinum per oz on a web page for yesterday. here is the link: http://www.metalprices.com/FreeSite/metals/pt/pt.asp I know you probably know this but a pound of precious metals is 12 ounces instead of 16 ounces like other things.
I think it would take a lot of platinum to make your fridge and so it would cost you a bundle and if you can afford a platinum fridge then will you please adopt me then?

I thought it was supposed to be expensive also, but the platinum was less than the stainless steel. You're right, it must have just meant the coloring. I would have rather had white because it would go better, but we didn't have any other choices.

We have some sentimental magnets that I'd like to keep up there, but it is an opportunity to get rid of some of the other ones :)

That might be a good idea... I'll have to see if I have a place to put it... I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to resort to the dishwasher as a magnet holder...

Cool!!!! I am excited about getting these. I've already got the old washer sold to a friend, just need to get rid of the dryer now.

Yes, it is it looks like steel but they cost way more than this one and it's platium. It has painted black sides and the silver front with black and silver handles. It a side by side with water and ice in the door. I just got it less than 6 months ago the same for the washer and dryer. I got the front load washer that I have been wanting. I just love my new things, maybe these will last at least 20 years which the old ones were 15 years old. lol
