Well, I always thought that doing crunches and/or sit ups helped rid of belly fat, but I recently saw Dr. Ian Smith from Celebrity Fit Club on Bonnie Hunt state that its a misconception. An audience member asked this question and he stated that no, doing sit ups or crunches does nothing for belly fat. All they do is strengthen your ab muscles. I was surprised. He was on the show promoting his new book, I think called "The 4 Day Diet" which I think is about you eating certain foods every 4 days to 'trick' your system to help increase your metabolism to lose weight. At least I believe thats what its about. So I guess doing these exercises only strengthens the muscles and has no effect on the belly fat. It was very interesting. He also said to lose weight, you need to do cardio, eat the RIGHT protein (like eggs) and the RIGHT carbs (like broccoli and cauliflower). Fiber also like whole wheat cereal or toast is important for eating right. Ive looked into these things myself so I can lose weight and thats what Ive learned.

I forgot to include, another apparent key factor in weight loss is watching your proportions, how much you eat. Theres so much info on this its easy to not know the 'right' things or to believe the wrong things. For example, we're supposed to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day for good health. As that may be true, who can literally drink that much everyday? Youd be in the ladies room every 10 minutes I would think lol. What Im trying to do is also think "eat to live, not live to eat". I was also watching the new show "Diet Tribe" and they said to not eat anything for the last 3 hours before going to bed. Hearing that, I try not to eat after 7pm preferrably, but definitely nothing after 9pm, but thats just me. So much info out there and what to believe and what not to, it can make your head spin lol.

there are tons of things you can do to lose bely fat, crunches and sit ups are just one way to do it...YOU HAVE TO EAT RIGHT.... I have been eating better and exercising for a bout 3 weeks now and I have lost 10 pounds PLUS i have lost 2 inches off my waist....this is the website I was using before I got my Wii FIT, which if you can afford it you should definatly try it, if not try prevention.com, has all kinds of tips and recipes and exercises....give it a try it has all kinds of motivational tips and articles...plus it has a food diary and a exercise tracker....trust me it works!!!
