Do you like to arrange your food attractively?

Presentation is half the enjoyment of a good meal. This morning I made my breakfast look very pretty with bright colors and a nice arrangement. Sometimes I don't bother but usually I enjoy seeing a pretty plate of food before I eat it.
I thought I'd show you my breakfast, I was quite pleased with the arrangement. Do you try to make your meals attractive or does it not matter to you?

This depends on my mood and energy levels. Even for a simple bread sandwich I decorate it colorfully and present it to my husband with flourish when I feel energetic.Otherwise the best of dishes are transferred to a vessel and goes non descript.Of course the taste would be appreciated but there is nothing much about the presentation .
My son also appreciates and loves my decorative presentations and he is waiting to buy me some nice ceramic plates where the colors would look more attractive and delightful. You see, we use stainless steel plates and cookware and there is not much scope for the colors to look delightful in this. So, he would always say'Oh! You ought to give this in a whilte bow/'.When I make home made ice cream too .I take painss to decorate it and present it and he comments like this. However, I have catered to his desire and bought a few icecream cups and this does look good.

You are certainly an attentive wife and mother!
I enjoy making things look pretty. Some days, like you, I just don't have the energy but when I was married I tried to make it nice. I hope you get some beautiful plates! But stainless steel is neutral, it goes with everything.

Thats good you have made your breakfast with pretty looking bright color and a nice arrangement. It is true that "Presentation is half the enjoyment of a good meal" But I think If a meal is not tasty as its color and arrangement then I don't need the presentation, I like enjoy meal when it teates well.

I agree that taste is the most important thing when it comes to food. But I also like it to look nice whenever possible. I would choose taste over presentation, though!

Only with the big holiday meals.
It comes out a mess so.,..... HAHAHA!
I just plop it on the plates normally then scarff it up anyhow.
Dad and my wife don't mind.
At least they have yet to complain about it.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I definitely wouldn't complain about presentation if someone was cooking for me!

If its for me i could care less really what it looks like. but i have a daughter who is slowly becoming less and less picky (knocks on wood) and if i cut it the food and arrange it very pretty she is more likely to eat it. . this morning it was yop in a pretty glass in the center of a plate, then i cut the cinomon toast in small strips and put them lengthwise across the plate pointing towards the glass and between the taost sticks i put honey dew cubes, cantalope cubes, and some strawberries. she gobbled it up. thank goodnes!
Here's my daughters first xmas dinner lol.

Oh, she is positively adorable!! And how lucky for her to have a mommy that is so artistic! I was never that inventive with my children, I think I was too tired to be creative-they ran me ragged but I loved every minute of it.

My hubby does when he presents a meal. He enjoys it I think. Usually I am in such a hurry with a five year old and a newborn. I just slap the food onto the plate. These days lucky to even eat it while it is warm.

I certainly understand what you mean! With two boys 364 days apart, I don't remember very many hot meals when they were under 4 years old! I wasn't much on presentation then, I just wanted to get everyone fed and happy so maybe I could eat in peace for at least one minute!

Well I am all day at work and when I come from home I would be so hungry that I don't care the presentation of the plate. However my husband loves to decorate his plate and when he cooks he will make a big colorful plate. It is nice having a good presentation even my child eats more .

What a nice thing for your husband to do, he must be very creative! Sometimes I cook ahead when I'm lucky enough to have a job and I make things pretty. But I know, when you come home and you're tired, you really don't care.

Hello Dear Dragon. I do enjoy arranging food, especially when i am treating my girlfriend with something that i prepare as i want her to enjoy it at maximum. I like to use different spices or leaves for decorating the food, or simply use what comes to mind at the moment of preparing it

Hi dragon54u,
You are making me hungry. Where's my Friskies and milk?
I love making pretty deviled eggs. I put the yolk mixture in a cake decorator and use the spiral tip. It makes like a sunburst pattern in the egg. Sprinkle some paprika and there you have it!

Deviled eggs are very beautiful but I've never tried one. I'll have to taste one if I ever have a chance again. I love colorful food!
