A Journalist Prayer

Please, to the powers of truth that may be. I beg you to allow me to stay free. In my inquisitive mind to seek. Allow me not to fear the wrath of the public. Nor the denial of allowing a subject. To be shared, Shouted, With in the context allowed. Please provide the correct pen. To write these words true. That were given to me, To share with the few. Who will listen, who will hear. Please to the powers that be hear my prayer. That my word be true, With a dagger for a sword. That with my words, no more blood should be poured. Upon the streets and the freedoms That should be upon my lips. Allow no tainted butter cross these hips. I ask that the tales I share are true, researched, backed, and solid that none can undo. Lest I lead another to the gallows so hollow. I shall not sell my true sight. I ask to spread truth, faith, life. In the world that is so hidden you see. I ask for the right to speak freely. Spreading what our creed that is to be true. That, as a journalist, all I ask of you. Respectfully, Ainge

Very nice. I've seen a lot of poems like these, and most of them are cheesy. Yours isn't. I'm actually going to print it out and share it with a few friends of mine, if it's okay with you. I'll wait a day before I do that, because I want you to have time to reply if it's not.

Thank you, that means a great deal and the cheesy factor is why I wrote what I did. As a journalist, you should have at least read the creed we have, but above all after you read it you should have it as a corner stone to reporting to the people, lest they be lead astray. I would be honoured if you copied and shared my poem. Please just add the my name or make sure it is on there is all I ask. I am sure you will but I would love for them to read it and hopefully share it as well. Ainge
