LPG SHORTAGE! Is there ?

Philippines

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)is what we use to fuel our stoves and more than 60 percent of taxi in my country. The government said there is enough supply! Then what is going on?! It is difficult to purchase one. So either the government is telling the truth but incompetent to investigate if there is hoarding (hoarding will increase the price of LPG) OR, the government is lying because they don't know the real score. How about in your place do you use LPG and are there enough supply?

The use of LPG for vehiclas here is pretty minimal, except in some cities for public transportation. For the most part it is used here for heating fuel. I live in a part of the country with a fairly long and cold winter and durring the winter, the price does go up a bit because of higher demand, but the price hasn't been too terribly high yet. there doesn't seem to be a shortage though. Where is it you country purchases it's LPG from?

hmmm, sounds like a distribution problem, some link in the supply chain went wrong. As for using charcoal for cooking, I'd advise against it, it produces a lot of carbon monoxide.

Thank you for responding. I am not sure if the LPG are produced here in my country because I think we do have the capability to. It is weird because the price of LPG is OK, according to the government there is supply and dollar rates has gone down so I don't know where this "seeming" shortage is coming from. We never had this problem before. Like this morning I went to a gas station to asked if they have some, they said they have none and not sure when are they going to deliver the batch for today. Someone I knew is beginning to use charcoal for cooking. Oh well. There is definitely someone who is getting rich from this.

From which country are you? I'm from the Philippines, and we don't use much LPG for our taxis here. I think only 3% taxis use that here. We mostly use it for cooking and there's no shortage. In fact, the prices are cheaper now than before. Good luck! Happy mylotting!

hi laydee, thank you for responding. I am too. In my place, there isn't much LPG are being sold. We have to call the guys who used to deliver them to us and said we have to go by their place and fall in line. That is what's bothering me. It is cheaper now, but could it be that there is a group who wants to manipulate the price by manipulating the supply? I can't help it but suspect foul play on this.

Hmmm.. Perhaps it's only in your area that the 'big guys' there are manipulating to create a demand (or to trigger panic so that people might think that there's an actual shortage) because here in our area, the prices are low and they even call us if we want one delivered.
