Do you think that 11 year old is a little too young for a dangerous sport called Bull Fighting? If you are having a raised eyebrow here, let me tell you the chill down my spine when I read this.
It has not only caught the world's attention but the animal rights activists as well. The article reveals that:
A child matador has infuriated animal rights activists by killing six young bulls in a bid to have his name entered in the Guinness Book of Records.
Michelito Lagravere, who is just 11, believes he should hold the world record for his controversial feat.
The youngster, whose father is former French bullfighter Michel Lagravere, slaughtered the animals in a ring in Merida, Mexico.
A judge gave the go-ahead for the child to fight six calves aged from one to two years after reviewing licences submitted by Mr Lagravere.
Animal rights groups and child protection officials had pleaded with authorities to suspend the event.
But now a video of the fight will be sent to Guinness for consideration for a world record - for the number of bulls killed and the age of the bullfighter.
I am just amazed at how this is actually turning out but as they say life is just full of surprises. Isn't it?

I don't see why they have to kill the bulls. Why can't they do it like bullriders where they tie them up to confirm a win and then their let go? To kill them just seems so mean...and pointless.

twoey68,
It is just part of the tradition for these people and it is being passed down from many generations.
I do understand your sentiments here, however, I just cannot say much here as we are also slaughtering everyday for meat. Also, traditions are an observance from people and it is just difficult for them to discard them.
Have a nice day.

Its really not proper for a boy that age to kill young animals. These animals are innocent like him. The father of this boy is a lunatic. HE SHOULD NOT EXPOSE HIS SON TO THIS KIND OF SPORT.
I believe that this incident will have a long term effect on the child's behavior and mind you.. it will not be good.

all i can say is its worthless.may be they can rename the guiness book for world records to GUINESS BOOKS FOR POINTLESS RECORDS.what he is going to get for killing 6 bulls?seems they have already poured in the killer instincts at this young age itself.y dont they try something like saving 100 people at a time to create a new record?
