Ok so I have stopped using my aol account for about oh gosh a very long time. And every once in a blue moon I go there and delete my mail. Well it's been quites some time and I have over 3200 emails and they won't let me delete all of them at once since there is to many .. boo hoo... So now I have to suffer through click on each individual box and I have no clue how long that is going to take ... I feel a migraine coming on.. That'll teach me to not check my email for a long time LOL!!! So has this ever happened to you or have you been on top of your emails no matter how many email accounts you have?

Um, this is embarassing in a way, Bella, but needless to say, it's been quite a long time since I've been to my first mail account because I just took a look and I've got - now seriously, Bella - 32,504 emails. Yup count them. Thirty two thousand, five hundred and four emails. Gulp! So. Also needless to say, I think I'm going to try my best to do what I've been doing and that's to completely ignore them all and hope they'll go away. Wish me luck?

I have 3071 unread e-mails right now! I am bad to just skip over the ones I don't want to read and they really add up!! I always get to the ones from my friends but my yahoo groups usually get skipped over unless I have extra time and here lately I don't have any extra to spare! lol I don't go days without checking them either or it would REALLY get bad! I check them every day. I went to a friends house for the weekend a month or so and did not check it and I had like 200 new ones to weed through!! I HATE SPAM!!

i don't have an aol account, but i will say i do get some junk mail to my yahoo. not as much as i use too though. i would recommend a gmail account. i get very little junk mail with that account. although i only use it for my website, i still get very little junk mail

Ok you think that's bad? Yesterday I logged into a yahoo account that I rarely use (I have my photo albums associated with it) and I had over 6700 emails in there which horrified me. I had joined some recycling scheme yahoo group for my neighbourhood some months ago and used that email address and completely forgotten about it. There were dozens of emails a day in there for months and months which took me ages to delete (as they were mostly out of date)! I've changed my preferences now so I only get the emails once a day LOL!

Yeah I'm going to have to see if I can set the preferences for aol or not 3200 is a ridiculus amount if you ask me. LOL!!

Yep and it is the worst to delete them off of AOL- page by page. It can take forever. Good luck with that!

Yikes!! At some point it will let you delete them all. If you just keep emptying your trash. Just keep checking. I don't know how many though. I think I have deleted about 600 at one time on AOL.

I had an inactive yahoo account in which I had around 2000 emails but most of them were spam emails which I deleted immediately without bothering to open them and check what they were about.

I have let my emails get to ridiculous amounts before now, the last biggie that I remember is when I went on holiday for a week and was posting loads here and had all my notifications turned on for all my friends on my list and I came back to about 1900 discussions and responses, that was a nightmare and I did learn my lesson from it!!

Hello Bella. I don't get this kind of problem, as i managed to keep my email address 90% spam free, and since i check it when i get new mail, i make sure to keep it that way. I only have about 2-300 mails in my account and all of them are needed.

The highest i had to do was about 2000 mails. I am a member of few professional forums & recieve many mails from these forums. I recently took a break for newyear & when i checked back my mail after about 4 days i was shocked to see more than 2000 mails in my inbox ( not spam). IT so happened that all the forum members had posted new year wishes . Before i forget : belated new year wishes to you. Thank god for the "check all+delete" button

Mark them as a scam(If the source mail id is same, then do it for only one). Those will be deleted automatically after 30 days.

Hi itsmine I have put all of the junk and spam mail Under the title spam and it's supposed to be differed to the spam folder and then deleted after a proper amount of time. Unfortunately it's not going there so I have to reput them in as spam in the meantime I had all that email to go through and delete. I'm done to 622 now. LOL!! I hope to be done by the end of business today. LOL!!

Well I am using Yahoo Mail as my e-mail provider. It really does not bother me regarding those thousand of unread e-mail. I just compile them on a specific folder and let them exist there for all they want.

I just can't compile it in a folder I would then never ever be tempted to go through it and get rid of it. LOL!!!

You got me curious, so I checked my trash file and found that in the past month alone I've deleted over 7000 emails and then there are the ones that I've saved to other files, so the number of emails I get in a 30 day period are huge! Didn't realize I was so popular! LOL When I was off line after we moved, I can't even remember how many emails I had to delete. Lately I've tried to clear the emails in my hotmail account too, but they've made all these changes to hotmail lately and now I can't delete anything! So they are really piling up.............

Here is the thing I started getting spam in this one no matter how many times I added stuff to the spam list and so I went and got a less spammed email. LOL!! so I haven't visited this one in a while. But there is no point in checking it daily since all my important emails go to my other account now. I just thought I check on it and clean it out.

3200 emails, Wow and you had to delete them all. I could not image doing all that in one day anyway. You must not have check them in a real long time. By the time you are able to clear them all out. Can you image how many more will accumlate.

i never had to delete thousands of email together but regularly 10s of junk emails arrive in the junk of folder that i've to delete manually. although i have enabled 'block email' options for many email addresses but new pranks, junk keep coming in everyday that needs manual deletion regularly
