I'm very fond of the crispies. They call it carmelization, don't they? (They've been crispies to me, they'll stay crispies.)

LOL I'm burning a steak right now.....
O.K. so far I mean that figuratively since I just put it on. But it is a good thing I like them well done.

Try soaking the pot with bleach. It will loosen and eat all the burnt stuff.

I burn things once in a while. Usually because I'm on the computer and don't get up when the bell rings. I tell myself I'll get up to turn it off in 1 minute and 1 minute turns int half an hour. LOL. I'm bad.

Thanks for the idea. (I can't help but hope I don't do it again. But if there's a book, well!)

The last thing I burned was a casserole. I meant to turn it off, but I turned the knob the wrong way and turned it up all the way. I burnt the cheese topping. Not too bad. I peeled the cheese off and added some more non burnt cheese to it.

At least it was salvageable. But it does suck, doesn't it? Did it overflow too?

There's something about burning tomatoes that just tastes horrid, isn't there?

I dont burn things very often, I tend to keep a pretty good watch on the things that I am cooking but I slightly burnt some macaroni one day because it did not have enough water in the pot. I try to be pretty careful when I am cooking things because
I hate cleaning up burned messes!

The last thing, I guess you could say I kind of burnt was spaghetti o's out of a can. Mind you I didn't make the spaghetti myself and etc, so I guess you could say I didn't really make it so much as heated it. It, or I mean some, stuck to the bottom of the pan, but it was easy to scrape out. Even so I guess you could say it wasn't completely burnt.

if you will put some water & vinegar in that pot & heat it to a boil it will come out easier. i deon't remember the last thing i burned, try to be careful about doing that but it happens so quick sometimes u can't help it. very aggravating to do that for more reasons than one.

I burned my husband's toast yesterday. The reason I burnt the toast is because we had just gotten home from church. My husband is such a grouch when he is hungry. I was trying to do too many things at once to expediate his breakfast and the toast was left in the toaster too long.
I have even burnt a pot after cooking, because I forgot to turn the burner off.

I thought toasters automatically shot the toast up. Ours do. Or are you talking about some other appliance and I'm getting mixed up?

The last thing I burnt was some curry and spices mix. I was supposed to fry this for a while in a pan/pot, with some onions before adding meat and coconut milk. I left it for too long, and it was too hot. The spices-curry mix burnt - the smell was terrible and the taste bitter!

Oh Ive done some good ones when I was younger, for example, ever burned boiled eggs? The water evaporates but the heat keeps going. It leaves the most disgusting smell behind, for a very long time.
I also once boiled a tin of treacle pudding and let the pan go dry, it exploded all over the kitchen. Even after scrubbing, scraping and repainting, we still had a stippled effect on the walls and ceilings.
I dont do it anymore coz I tend to stay in the kitchen doing other things now, while Im cooking and Ive given up on boiling things, coz thats where I seem to go wrong.

Mine was grilled cheese sandwiches. I always have a hard time making them just right. They are either under done or too done. I hate mine burnt too!

Oh yes. My hubby told me about his mom burning cheese sandwiches. In the microwave. She accidentally hit 20 minutes, not seconds. Then was doing something and forgot they were in there... I haven't done that!!

You sure handled that soup really bad lol.I have burned soup before but my latest victim was rice an peas .I was on mylot and turned the stove up too much and as a result the bottom of the food got burned .I had to let it soak and when I finished after about three days scraped off huge chunks of hardened burnt rice from teh bottom of the pot.The bottom of that pot was black and it happened about two weeks ago as well.I hope you will have better luck next time with that soup

So my lot and cooking don't go together very well. Hey, I can burn pretty much anything anywhere, but my lot sure didn't help much!! Glad to know it got you too. (Maybe it's a conspiracy...) (Or could it be a planned excuse for others to do the cooking? Hmm, maybe I should try that plan of attack. Wonder if it would work...) Nah, my hubby's too smart for that trick. Sigh.
