The other day when I was doing a scan for spyware on the computer as it was running a bit slow, and in the results which had a couple of Malware listed it also had a Browser Hi-Jacker.
This is the first time I have noticed one of these, so can anyone explain what it is and does ?
I run Firefox, and that seems to be running okay, so how does it hi-jack the browser ? and for what reason ?
Thanks in advance.

agree with earlier responces. i want to add that there are some anti spyware softwares that are very good but when you run the scan through them, they often detects your normal Windows files or your document files to be a virus or spyware.
in most cases this is not the case but you can always check details for that particular file on internet. if your system is working totally fine , there isn't much chance that spyware or virus is residing in your Pc but to be sure search on internet with that particular file name and read what that file exactly is.

I am currently looking for the best antivirus program that I can get. I do not like macafee or norton. Currently I'm using avast but I want the best. Anybody got any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks for your responses, I am currently using Avast anti virus, which seems to do a good job with picking up most stuff.
I also have Spybot search and destroy, Spyware Begone and Spyware vanisher.
I also have microsoft Windows Defender, but this seems to be the least effective of them all.
If I am doing a thorough clean up, normally after the children have been tinkering on messenger and the internet, I tend to a boot scan with Avast and then use Spyware Vanisher, and between the two of them, seem to clean it up.
The only problem with all this protection, is it must slow the system down by a percentage I would think.

I also haven't heard of that kind of spyware. I think firefox is one of the best browser and it is more secure than any other browser. so there won't be any problem because of that spyware...

Thanks Karthickvr for your response, I have also been using Firefox for years now, and I don't think I would ever go back to Internet explorer, as that is just like leaving your back door open.
