I am a new mum who is on her 5th pregnancy's month. As I will have my first baby I have many questions about a time when baby is born. Dear mums - how long did you breast-fed your baby? Did you follow your menu during breastfeeding time?

My first baby was nursed for twenty-four months, and my second baby was nursed for sixteen months. I would've nursed my second longer, but I had to go in for a minor surgery and the medication transferred into my milk. While nursing, I ate the same way I did when I was pregnant to ensure proper nutrients would be delivered to my children. My doctor told me (and I also researched this online and in medical books) that it's best to nurse your baby for as long as you can. So, that's what I did. :-)

You're very welcome! I heard of stories like that where the mother lost vitamins and things like that, so I made sure to take a very good multi-vitamin every morning and I consumed a lot of highly vitamin fortified food. I was worried about my teeth and bones, so I made sure to eat a lot of leafy green vegetables (spinach and brocolli are both really good sources of nutrients) and protien enriched foods.
