Do you clean behind/under your appliances?

Over the weekend, we bought a new washer/dryer and a new fridge. We had to take a cupboard down from around the old fridge and wanted to get the wall behind it painted before we put the new one in. We also had a friend who needed the washer so we took that out already too. And man oh man! Were the floors under those appliances filthy. My husband cleaned the floor under the fridge and I'm getting ready to do the floor under the washer/dryer. The dryer is still down there so I'm going to have to move it around to get the whole floor done.
Do you routinely pull out your heavy appliances and clean behind them? I usually don't - out of site out of mind kinda thing...

My refrigerator is on the end of a counter so it's easy to move. I clean under there about every 1-2 months. But my stove is gas and it can't be pulled all the way out because of the gas pipes and hoses. So I never clean under there. We got a new stove about 1 year ago and ....Yuck! ..... But I cleaned it all out then.

We have 2 wall ovens so they don't get moved. And our stovetop is built into an island cabinet so we just have to clean around the burners.
But now that I've cleaned behind/under my fridge and washer/dryer, I'll make an effort to do it more often!

My stove area wasn't that dirty when I last cleaned it. Mostly dust. But I do lift the lid monthly to clean all the grease etc that spills under the burners. Otherwise it can burn and start a fire. Better safe than sorry in that aspect.

The stove I moved was ancient and came with the house. The new stove fits tighter without any gaps on the sides by the counters. I'm sure it doesn't get too dirty under there now.
A great thing about the new stove is that there are no gaps around the burners for spills to go. Everything stays on top now and while I look under the top occasionally, I really haven't had to clean anything up anymore under there.

I lucked out on the stove part - we have wall ovens built right into the cabinets. There's no way we can get those out, but there's no way for food to get in there either. Our stovetop is in an island and we clean out that all the time.
Now that we've gotten rid of the cupboard that the fridge was in, it will be much easier to move it out and clean around it.
I think the last time this was cleaned was probably 1976 when the house was built!

I routinely clean under my stove about once a year. I have never moved my fridge nor my dryer or washing machine. The washing machine and dryer are only 4 years old so hopefully there is not that much dirt under them.

That's pretty good! Even when I had an oven I could move (I have wall units now) I never did. I can barely clean up the living room, how can I be expected to clean behind stuff you can't see????

IF you know me before we moved into this house you would think I was sick now. I use to not care where things went or if the house was clean. Now I vacuum a lot and cannot stand a dirty bathroom. I have been keeping a "nice" home. Not prefect like I should since I an home all day. But a whole lot better than I ever use to.

I try to do this as often as recommended in the owner's manuals because they say it'll make the appliances run more efficiently, thus cutting down energy costs. However, I tend to forget and it's a huge mess when I finally do remember to tend to this chore. Yuck.

Our fidge was enclosed in a cupboard so it we were never really able to move it and clean behind/under it. But I think I might make more of an effort to do the washer/dryer from now on - there was a thick mess of lint under there. Didn't take but a few minutes to clean up, but still it was gross.

Yeah, it's difficult to clean under/behind them so it just stays dirty. The new ones are actually a bit easier to move around so I think we'll be able to clean under them a bit more often.

Yes I do but not everyday! That is for when I do the big cleaning.Everyday I clean up and tidy up its part of my routine ...I do become aggravated with dust bunnies..I mean it seems like they actually reproduce or something..Kinda scary..Ha! Have a great day!

I don't think we'll be moving the washer/dryer out any time soon, they were such a pain to get in there!

I re4cently cleaned behind out fridge and stove. Moved them a little bit so figured I may as well scrub behind them. Not real dirty but a lot of dust was all. The washer and dryer are on the cement basement floor and have not been cleaned in the 6 years we've owned the house. Hahaha!

Under the washer/dryer was mostly lint. About 12 cents and an army man. I didn't really get a good look at how the floor under the fridge looked, my husband did that. I do need to try to keep it clean now that we've done it once.

Hey reiny! Nope! I don't touch the refrigerator! It is way
too heavy to even think about moving. But, luckily I am going
to be getting a new kitchen floor so I won't have to worry
about cleaning it! Otherwise, the only time it get's cleaned
is when it needs to be fixed! My washing is portable so that
get's moved whenever I use it so that isn't a problem. I
don't know too many people that move their heavy appliance
around unless they absolutely have to for some reason or
another.

The new ones we just got today are actually kinda easy to move around. The fridge moved very easily. Although we still have to jiggle the washer/dryer to move them I think they're easier too...
