I know that many of you have probably heard of the saying that "blood is thicker than water". However have you ever been betrayed by a friend or family member and which one is usually easier to forgive in your opinion?

I think it is easier to forgive a family member. Just because they have been there your whole life and you will be connected to them for the rest of your life. I have forgiven my sister for things I wouldn't forgive in friends. I have had a couple friends betray me and I could not forgive them for what they had done. I no longer talk to them or have any association with them whatsoever. I just couldn't get over it.

Family is family and it is the only one we will have that God gives us..unless we marry and multiply. But friends can be forever friends also. So I guess it would all depend on the relationship you have with that person and just how close. If family is rocky then it might not be fixable or forgivable same way with friends. But it if wasn't a very close friend then it would be different. I feel that we should forgive family and that it should be forgiven first and forgotten so it won't keep poppong up and destroying the fix up.

hello bamakelly. umm..I think its both not easy to forgive a friend or a family member. It depends on the situation how serious the misunderstanding is- I guess we all have friends that stick so close like a family. So, for me the feeling would be the same.
