Did you have a Burns Night Supper at the weekend, and if so, did you have haggis with all the traditional accompianments such as neeps, tatties and a drop of whisky? We always have a big family Burns night supper and its so much fun, plus I adore haggis, its so delicious.

Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish, it sounds odd but is really yummy. Its made with minced sheeps offal (liver etc) and barley, though some people make it with port offal instead, its not as good in my opinion unless you use sheep, and is effectively a giant round sort of sausage with barley in it. Like most sausages the ingredients sound odd until you remember its all just meat and good eating too. You boil it, and serve it with mashed potatoes (tatties) and neeps (swede, though some prefer turnip). Its poor mans food originally, but these days is delicacy and not eaten often
