I'm not a name brand person at all! To me, saving money is more important. My boyfriend doesn't really care about his clothes, but when it comes to his food he HAS to buy name brand! Even if it's for his dog! If I buy him something that is store brand, he won't eat it. Now, there are a few foods I've tried that I don't like as much as the name brand, and in those cases I buy name brand. But I always try off brand and store brand first. And if I like it, I keep buying it! My boyfriend won't even try something that is store brand!

With clothes, I could care less. As long as it fits well and is the style I want.
Now with food, I am definately more of a name brand person. Certain thigs you can get away with generic/no-name. Like pasta for example. I'll buy whatever noodle I can for the least in price. Now the sauce that goes on it...I have to get what I thinks taste best even if it's more expensive. Some juices taste just like their name brand counter parts. Certain things you can get by with but its all on a case by case basis.
One thing I can't compromise on is peanut butter. I grew up a JIF kid and now even other name brands I don't like. It's funny the things we become particular about.

I am not big on name brands either. For food, I do like certain name brands. I can only have Heinz ketchup, Hunts sauces, and Peter Pan peanut butter. Other than that I can't think of what I buy that is name brand over generic.
As for the clothing, I just buy what I think is cute and fits me good. I use to work as a fashion coordinator for 10 yrs and it was all about wearing that one brand of clothing that I was selling. It got boring after a while and it seemed that I was spending a ton of money on these brand name clothes. I must say, I always looked good!

When it comes to clothing, I'm as plain and no name brand as you can get. For me, style and color matters a lot more than the label. When it comes to food, though, you're absolutely right, a person does support certain brands - mostly through experience. For example, I buy a certain brand of tea, a certain brand of butter and a certain brand of ketchup, because I like those. I'm not picky in everything, just certain things.
