Here are some pictures of a winter storm we are having right now, for the past two days we've had freezing rain and sleet. Everything is frozen solid, and its real dangerous to be out on the road, we had a couple fatalities yesterday because the roads were icy, people just drive too fast. Its supposed to move out later this evening, and start warming up again. So far, we've had about an inch of ice, and this first picture shows a tree by my back door that is covered with ice. We had a bad ice storm this time last year, and alot of people were out of power for weeks, hopefully it doesn't happen again this time. Don't you just love the winter? We don't get much snow here, but we get ice...Have a good day

wow, where are you at? we are in southern ontario, canada and while we get our fair share of snow and cold, its rare that we get as much ice as that (maybe a couple of times per winter, but not that severe). spring will be here soon! :-)

I'm in Oklahoma...and we mostly get ice, we may get some snow twice a year, but if we do, its not much, its usually melted by the end of the day. I'd much rather have snow than ice, its easier to drive in, and it melts faster, with ice, there isn't much you can do, if you start sliding in your car, thats it, you don't have any kind of traction. I'm ready for Spring too....Thanks

So pretty, like the world is encased in crystal. As long as you don't have to go out in it. I love winter storms, wish we'd have more than one per year. Good time to make a nice pot of chili. It's really nice stepping outside and hearing the quiet. Usually we hear traffic noises. Hope you enjoyed the day!

Stunning! Make sure you keep these terrific pictures to look at in August when it's 105* out. Don't you wish we could save some of these days to use in the summer?

I don't need to look at pictures. I'm living right in the middle of it. It is beautiful (even if it ruining plans and turning my into a recluse, and making it hard for the people who help me to get here).

Nice picture. It's hailing out right now as I write this. I hope it stops. I have to go out later and pick up my sister and it's not a short trip. I guess I'll have to plan on leaving earlier than I thought so I can take it slower than I planned.

Yeah, it hope it stops for you, it can be dangerous being out on the roads. Here its been dangerous and icy, we only live 5 miles from town, and it took my husband 45 mins. to get home yesterday, he said he even left early from work, it was bad, and its not any better today. Be careful out there....Thanks.

I live in Ohio and last week was our bad snow storm but now we are also covered in ice! The only way to get into our house is out the back door and down the steep, long driveway, so we can't even drive our car, so we have to pay our neighbors across the way, (who has a flat driveway) to take us to the store. We have to take a sled with us and pull the groceries way up the driveway in it and we have to wear huge socks over our shoes so we can walk on the ice! Right now we are waiting till the weekend, so my brother can bring us a huge bag of salt and salt the driveway for us, sure hope that works! I do love winter but NOT this long steep driveway during winter times!

I know what you mean, we have a long driveway, its not real steep but its on a slope, and you still slide around if your not careful. Then once you get to the end of the driveway, theres a big hill up to the stop sign, and you can get yourself in trouble. I've gotten stuck a few times there, by our mailbox..lol. Hey, socks do give you traction, my mom told me that once, so one day I decided to walk to our mailbox and its a long walk, I put old socks over my shoes and I made it down there no problem..haha. I hope you all get the salt and are able to get it on your driveway...Thanks

Well it looks like this ice storm is just going under Minnesota, so you won't be getting any ice..lol. I'd much rather have the snow than the ice, its easier to get around in, and it doesn't cause all the power outages thats going on right now. I think the electric company tried to prevent it from happening again, I know this summer they went and trimmed all the trees so branches wouldn't fall on the power lines. Well maybe you'll be getting some snow soon....Thanks...

playin in the snow - This was taken a couple of weeks ago, she loves playing in the snow
I've been seeing all the news on the icy conditions. It's all headed my way tonight and tomorrow, but we'll end up with around 4" of snow, sleet and ice. It's just started to snow here. So, I won't be going anywhere for a day or two. I moved to Pa from Texas, I don't get out on the roads in snow or ice. I just wish other people wouldn't get out unless it's an emergency. I've also learned that the weather men are rarely correct, we either get way more snow than they predicted or hardly any at all. But from the radar, it's coming this way!

Yes, its all heading your way, I seen it on the radar too, its moving northeast from here. My sisters are all out of power right now, one of them went out and bought a generator, and they're all gathered up at her house, they live about an hour away from me. Yes, weather men are rarely correct, thats what we call crazy Oklahoma weather, you never know whats its really going to do...lol. Thanks..

Oh!! you have no snow but ice? Oh!!! I don't like ice either. So, you always experience that sleet and freezing rain? I don't like that. Well, when the road icy, that is really dangerous!!! I am scared even to think about it. I am glad we are not having that here in North Carolina.

Yeah, thats mostly what we got was sleet and freezing rain, later in the day, it did start snowing, but it will take a long time for it to melt off, because its still below freezing...Thanks

I live in New Jersey, and we are expecting a snow and ice storm tonight. the morning commute will be rough. I hate when there is ice, because it is so dangerous. People drive so fast, thinking because they have four wheel drive they are invincible. We had ice about two weeks ago, my cars were frozen, we could not get into the cars, the doors were frozen.

Yes, I hate the ice, snow I don't mind too much at least you can get around in it, but ice is slippery and you don't have any traction at all, so I try to stay off of that stuff. I know people drive too fast, I heard that there were 7 fatalities since yesterday. My husband drives a four wheel drive truck, and even then he still slides around in it, I'm ready for it to melt...Thanks.

Yes, I remember you asking me, I think I answered you...haha. I think the last I heard they said there was 7 fatalities since this all started yesterday, people just aren't careful when they're driving, they think they can still go the speed limit. I myself have been staying inside, I don't want to risk my life for anything, I went grocery shopping before it all started yesterday, so I know I would have everything I needed...Thanks.

hello walijo that looks like the freezing rain that we had around here in Nashville at 3:00 a.m. this morning. but by 6:00 a.m. here i awoke again and it was pouring down rain. it had done warmed up here outside. whoo hoo! but tonight, we are supposed to get some snow. i do not know how much or if we'll be getting any of it. sure hope not. i do not like it when the roads get bad. but i do have to admit that i love waking up in the mornings and looking out the window to a big beautiful snow on the ground. take care and have a beautiful evening.

Hello to you too, well we did finally get some snow about 4pm this evening, it helped a little bit on the roads to give you more traction, but my husband said they were still pretty bad. I know I'm not going anywhere..lol. It is beautiful outside tho...Thanks.

That picture is really pretty. I'm not a big fan of winter. It's always horribly cold for me because I have bad circulation. But I love with trees are covered in ice or snow. It always looks so pretty. But I hope it warms up where you live and nothing bad happens. It would suck to go without heat especially how cold it has been this winter. Have a great day.

I'm not a big fan either, it gets too cold for me, I don't mind it as long as I'm able to stay in where its warm, I don't like to be out in it if I can help it. Yes, the trees are beautiful covered with ice or snow, but I'm ready for it to warm up now..lol. Thanks...
