I make hamburger helper from time to time because it seems like an easy meal to make once in a while. Just add ground beef and the sauce and noodles from the box. I have been thinking of doctoring up the recipe with some new ideas like perhaps adding onions or green peppers. Does anyone have any ideas here other than the ones that I presented which can spruce up a hamburger helper meal?

the best hamburger helper recipe is.. make the regular beef stroganoff, only add sausage (like a lb) instead of ground beef, add a package of onion soup, and sour cream ! yummmm

I take the Cheeseburger one and doctor it up when I make it, I will add canned veggies to it, then top it with additional cheese stick it in the oven for oh about 20 minutes or so to melt the cheese on top. The kids enjoy it. Or take the lasagna, one add cubed turkey to it instead of ground beef, throw in a few mushrooms, some green onion and some sour cream. :)

Yes, I do that sometimes by adding a can of mixed vegetables into it. Or when I make the extra cheesy macaroni one I like to add steamed broccoli. There is a multiple ways to spruce it up with different veggies.

I don't tend to use hamburger helper alot, I would rather make up my own so to speak. But when I do, fresh herbs or even dried spices always spruce it up. Also Garlic and onions helps. I liked the ideas of fresh veggies and extra cheese as well. Just gives an old stand by a new twist!

I don't really eat it often enough to give any really good tips on doctoring up Hamburger Helper. I know they have a Beef Stroganoff one though that I bet would me really good with some sliced mushrooms in it. Onion is always a good addition to things. Extra cheese is good too.
