Yes,it is very useful in daily life and i am also practicing yoga for the last three years. The word yoga means union in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit. What is commonly referred to as yoga can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word asana which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses. Asana is only one of the eight limbs of yoga, the majority of which are more concerned with mental and spiritual well being than physical activity. In the West, however, the words asana and yoga are often used interchangeably.

good that you are practicing yoga., tha word "Yoga" means to Joint in sanskrit its called "YUJ" (Origin word). menace to join or rech to the god. (Atma to Parmatma). Many people start from Asana, but what i belives is we should start from "Yama" then "Niyam" & then only "Asana". only practicing of Asana is not "Rajyoga" or "Ashtanga yoga", first we have to go through the 2 steps which are Yama & Niyam.

Hi thanks for increasing my knowledge about different types of yoga. I thing that one can start yoga only if he know the proper method to do it, other wise he / she should not start yoga. If you dont know yoga then I thing you should go for morning walk/ running. If you are above 45 years and depend upon your health condition you can morning walk or running. For this their is not knowledge is required.

Yoga is very lenthy procedure. It's ueful when you want peace of mind in this busy life. But now a days if person is not getting time to eat will he follow Yoga.If following then is's fantastic but are there other options which give good effects and not consuming time like Yoga. As i known about very less excercises in Yoga. Like Pranayam, Kapalbharti and others. All these took lots of time and give late effect. If you are having any other options please discuss.
