How do you make money on eBay?

Don't you just love eBay. I spend a lot of money there but not as much as I would if I had to buy all the stuff I buy at local shops. I don't mind getting something second hand if it's in great shape. But I like to make money on eBay as well as spend it. I sell things on eBay that I get at yard sales and flea markets. It's rocks to buy someone's cast offs for pennies and sell them for dollars on eBay. I can hardly wait until spring and summer when the yard sales start up again. Do you make money on eBay and if so how?

Yes, I've bought and sold on Ebay. I do what you do and find items at garage sales, flea markets, craigslist, and also Ebay itself. I've already found items on Ebay that I've re-sold for a nice profit. It takes time to figure out what, but it's kind of like detective work I guess. I got interested in antiques and collectibles, books, and that got me on my way but have sold other items too. It gets kind of exciting when you see the bidding getting higher and higher, haha. It's fun.

Yes, the blood sure does start pumping, lol! One thing you might want to check on which interests me (giving you one of my secrets, haha) and have only started doing is, vintage Postcards, in the collectible section. I've been watching these for quite some time, a few years to be exact, and find myself completely amazed at what some of the prices go for. Old vintage Halloween postcards are so desireable, you'll flip at some of the prices. Of course it depends on condition and who the artist is or sometimes there's no particular artist, etc, like all other things, no different. One dealer a couple of years ago had a whole bunch of them, and for three weekends in a row, she was pulling in a few thousand dollars each week. She had the right cards and was selling them of course, right before Halloween and everyone was going crazy bidding.....Wow!, that's about all I can say. So if you have any place around you that sells these, check first on Ebay to see the worth, but they are just fun to collect too. Amazing what the cards looked like back then, so gorgeous in color. Just thought I'd let you know so you can have some fun too. Take care.

I have never tried it, but in these times I would like to. I am just not sure how it all works and I don't want to end up with a bunch of junk at my house. But I may try it this year. I have a bunch of junk around my house.

I started on eBay by going through boxes we never bothered to unpack from our previous move. Things that we no longer cared to have or display. I made a pocket full of money that summer. I didn't even buy packing material or boxes. I took the boxes that things were packed in and cut them into the sizes I needed to ship things and used crumbled up newspaper for packing. The buyer paid the shipping costs so I never had to invest more than to pay for the listings I put on ebay. I think they were about 60 cents each. About going to yard sales and ending up with junk. Don't buy junk. :) Buy things that are in great shape that you can get for pennies and if you don't sell them, well have a yard sale and get rid of them that way. Also don't buy too much stuff at the start. Test the waters on eBay so you know what you are doing and then the fear of having junk left over will disappear when you start earning. Have fun with it, like I did.

Without a doubt. I browse through eBay daily to find good deals and have also bought a few times a couple of times. But the idea of using eBay to make money sounds really exciting. Continue sharing if you find how to. :-)
