Many times headaches are associated with dehydration. Drink a couple of glasses of water and that should help a little in about a half hour after drinking the water. Also try to keep light to minimum, close the drapes or blinds, avoid bananas and chocolate. Hope you feel better soon.

Drinking and eating was the last thing on my mind that day! I am sure though that I was a little dehydrated cause I woke up with that pain and hadn't eaten or drank since the night before. Man that was aweful. Thanks for the well wishes!

I too suffer from migraines. The way that I deal with them, is I first try to sleep it off, if at all possible, this is the best option, because the more medications that you take, the more of a tolerance that you build up to them and they won't work when you need them. If that don't work, I take maxalt.... it's a prescription for them that my doctor gave me. These pills make me sleep, like knock me out.... so I wouldn't take them and drive or anything like that. Ibprophen helps sometimes, so does excedrin migraine, but maxalt does the best. As far as tieing a cloth around your head, I never tried it, I may though..........

Yeah, I would have much rather have been knocked out than to have dealt with that. I will mention the maxalt to my doc when I go back. Thanks.

Oh goodness...anything but migraines! I read your message and i feel like i'm going to have one. I'm a migraine sufferer for 3 yrs now. I've researched everything about it cause I just got so tired of feeling paralyzed with all that pain. I can not focus on anything whenever I get migraine. The key is to STAY AWAY from foods that could trigger your migraine. I have discovered what triggers mine: nuts, gum, dairy products, and here's the latest that I found out - any processed food with white sugar in it. Brown sugar is ok but white is not as well as the sugar-free goodies! Stay away from these foods and you'll be doing yourself a great relief! I loved that chewy Werther's candy but it's all about self-control. Hope this helps. Oh, and whenever I have a migraine attack, i also take The Vert green tea. It relieves the pain after about 20 minutes. Get it from an Asian store. It really helps. Take care.

migraines can be cured or atleast lessened by using folk remedies. there is inexpensive forms of releif from migraine head aches.one that is packed on the open market is ice wraps.the store bought is meant to be placed on the forehead or neck of migrane victim.this originated with home made version of ice wraps. wet a towel liberally ,then squeeze ,not wring, some of the water out.fold until the towel can easily placed in freezer. leave it for 5 minutes or until the towel to stiffen up. ufold the towel and refold ,trying to place the frozen section towards the middle and the wet sections towards the outside . when the towel is reasonably frozen , place around the head the eyes. another home remedy is salt consumption. if the migrane is in starting stages, a snack of corn chips, fries covered with large large amount of salts or any other salty food can calm the attack . another one is ,in a darkened room relax and have message u'r scalp by others. migraine releif can be obtained from taking fresh ripe grape juice .take fresh juice from fresh grapes and take it without adding any water. vitamin I complex tablets containing 100 mg of niacin can be taken for magraine treatment. valuable sourses of niacin are nuts, liver, sunflower seeds, fish, tamatoes, green leaf vegetables, whole wheat ,yeast. eat frequent small meals and take more water. exercise regularly and fresh air can walks can releive u. mix 200ml of spinach juice with 300 ml carrot juice and take. or take 100 ml beetroot juice,300 ml carrot juice, 100 ml cucumber juice combinely.
