If all your books had to go...?

If your significant other said all your books had to go, what would you do? How would you react? (Or would he be the one going?)

Well actually that's exactly what the hubs told me just before we moved the last time. I just smiled and asked for more packing tape. I DID donate a lot of my books to a Seniors Home, but the ones I kept, I put in boxes labeled with the hubs name and 'tools'. He has so many small hand tools, that are actually heavy, that he never questioned the contents and just loaded them on the truck for the move! LOL When I unpacked them, he wasn't around, and when he saw them in our bookcases he looked a little lost for a minute and then said "Well at least you kept the ones with pretty spines"! ROFL He's such a dufus sometimes! LOL

You're such a sneaky Sparky!! But isn't that why we love the guys? Because of their faults? (Or at least that's what we tell them)

Mine would never tell me that I HAD to do anything (he knows better!). If he did say something like that I would tell him that he could go right straight plum to he||! It's a collection of mine, just like the collections of things he has, and it stays.

There ya go!! Sometimes i think about getting rid of some, the ones I haven't touched in years. I try to bargain with him so I can get rid of some of his stuff, but he just tells me to keep all my books. Just when I think I have a bargaining point... Sigh.

i think books would be a silly thing to be fighting over to begin with, i would not get rid of my books or anything else of mine if i didn't want to. sounds like to me he's just picking a fight.

Sorry Lady, I didn't mean to mislead you. This was just a thought to throw out. My guy keeps making bookshelves to hold all my stuff. I know I should clean some of it out, but I just love books! He's very understanding of my addiction. His mom, after we were married, came over and told me my sci-fi books were from the devil and she'd burn them all. He flat out told her if she touched them, she'd be out on her butt!!

I think he would be the other one going. There would be no possible reason for someone to have to get rid of all of their books. Unless it was an issue of not enough room to keep them. Then you can get rid of SOME of them, not all. Or you could put them into storage. No one could ever get me to get rid of all my books!
