If it's really cheap, does your significant other have to pull you away? (And take your purse/wallet?) I mean those really, really great sales, where you can get a bunch of notebooks or whatever for hardly anything? Even though you have a lot of paper at home, it's such a GREAT deal? Do you? I do! I just can't resist!

I have stayed home most of the days since Christmas just to keep me out of the stores and spending money. But now you have tempted me. I love buying notebooks, journals, pens and paper. I usually don't wait until sales either. For Christmas I received about 2 packages of pens, one package of pencils, two packages of printer paper and a package of black & white and colour printer cartridges for my printer. But I sent my husband out the other day with my daughter who was in need of lined binder paper and markers for school. I knew if I took her I would have bought a whole lot more than just that.
Frankly, my husband never complains about the things I buy. He just complains about the credit card bill when it comes in.

I'm a bad little girl, tempting you. I have far too many pens than I need. (But they're mine!! All mine!!) My hubby grabs me by the hand to keep me from paper sales. He just won't stop steering me!! :)

Well, I went out today. I looked but didn't buy... books and pens that is.
I have the feeling pens dry up if they aren't used right away. I have a ton of pens but when I go to use them out of the pencil case where I put them when I first got them, they don't work. I was at a seminar taking notes and I went through five pens before I grabbed one from my friend. Am I right about this?

Some do, others don't. I've bought brand new pens and got zilch out of them. (I do have reasons to carry many, many pens) Some of the cheaper brands can work the best. Isn't that really sad? I take some scrap paper and keep scribbling over it. Sometimes that brings a pen to life. Eventually.

A bookstore chain... No, not going there. I got a girlfriend in a city with a Half-Price bookstore. I do NOT need more books. But I can't walk through it without buying about 15 books. I didn't spend a lot of money, but the space is shrinking at home...
She doesn't understand why I talk her out of taking me there when I visit... Sigh. (I think I need a bigger house...)

What's A4 paper? Is that different from regular 8 X 11? A special thickness? I've never heard it before.

I'm a paper freak and have been for as long as I can remember. Resisting the sales is really difficult, particularly the clearances after Christmas and the back to school sales. Eeep! I'm an office supply freak, too, so it isn't just paper. I'm a mixed media artist, so I use a lot of these office supplies both for work and for my art... a double whammy ... it's hard to stay out of the stores!!!!!

I feel for ya. Pens are a weakness for me too. I see a neat one, so I gotta get it to try it out. then there's another one on sale, better try it too. Oh, look at how many you get in that pack, and I sorta like the look of those...
Then there are all those nifty little new things. Maybe that would work for this... Oh, I think I could use that... Oh yeah.

If it is something that I need or intended to buy anyway them I go and buy it,if it is something that I don't need no.It has taken this credit crunch to stop me spending money. It it is food then I will but bog offs then yes or if we are in town and they are giving kids clothes away then I may buy the next size up for my son but that does not happen very often as getting to the nearest town in a half an hour bus ride and the fares are very expensive about $9 and I just will not pay that unless it is an emergency.Stay away from shops is my motto, mind you we did have a journey by car the other day to our local town ,and all the shops hardly had anything in them,or the shops are in the hands of the receivers more like a ghost town then the county town of kent.I think it will get very difficult to buy anything as there won't be any shops to buy anything from .

I'm not that dedicated. I can't stand waiting till something opens. I won't stand in line if I can possibly help it. It hurts my knees to just stand, I gotta walk. Well, I suppose if there was some lovely stationery that was gonna be so low... No, no, I gotta have standards!

I thought I was the only one who was like this. I have no children, but am known to stock up and buy at least a case of notebooks from WalMart every yr. when I see them .10 each. I have had a lot of people, including the Sales people ask me if I had children. I just smile at them and say No, and that I Love to stock up on these as I am a Writer and take notes or Write stories for just about everything I do.

Since I come in every year to hit them up at this time, they just roll their eyes and ring them up. I'd love to buy a case!! I did the first couple times. But my hubby gives me this long suffering look, so I've learned to tone it down while he's along. (Now if I go back another day, well, I'm sure you know what I do.) Unfortunately, we have a small house, so he can pretty easily find it when I stock up some more. Sigh.

I just can't. I guess it comes from being poor. When I was a kid, I had to write on the tiniest scraps of paper. Try keeping those in order! So I became a hoarder on everything. Don't like to run short on food or supplies. I may not have survived the Great Depression, but I bet I could've.

Yeah, that's definitely me. I love those back-to-school discounts and stock up on stationary every time. I have a confession to make. The other day, I counted my stash of blank exercise books (A5 size) and found I still had 40. That's right, four zero. Doesn't look like I'll be running out any time in the near future. But here's an even worse confession. Towards the middle of last year, one stationary store/newsagent marked down all the 2008 diaries they had left. They were selling page a day diaries for ridiculously low prices and I got to thinking, that's at least 365 pages to use for planning a story at the price of a 32 page excercise book. So I bought a few... and tried to ignore the funny looks the sales assistants gave me.

You never know when you're gonna need it. I hear ya loud and clear! I want the blank books (pout, pout)... One never knows when they'll come in handy. It's always best to be prepared. I'm a firm believer in being prepared.
