I beleive that my stimulus plan is more cost effetive that Pres. Obama One Trillion Dollar Stimulus Plan. The First part, is a "Fedral Tax Free Holiday" where you don't have to pay any Federal taxes for the next six months. This means that the average american can take there federal tax dollars home in there next paycheck and stimulate the economy. The second part, of my stimuls plan lower all income tax brackets 5% and that will put more money in the Average American pockets. The Third part, is to cut the Capital Gains rate 75% so, that americans can invest those extra dollars back into the american economy. The Fourth part, a Tax Free Holiday for three years for those people who want access to there IRA because, they lost there job. The Fifth Part, is to lower all taxes on small businesses because they create 80% of the jobs in america. Finally, lower all corporate tax rates 5% because of declining pofits and a smaller workforce. The more money corporate america has in it's pockets the more they can spend on new employees and new technology. Go to herringpost.blogspot.com to read the story more clearly because I have "stats" that will prove that my plan is better for the american economy today than President Obama Plan. Make a comment about my stimuls plan and I will put it in my next article.

I think there is some solid reasoning there livinglegend. Personally, I've never understood the capital gains tax. You work hard to earn something, pay taxes on it and then you have to pay taxes on it again.

It would work to stimulate the economy. I don't know how you would pay for it though. For the ease of time I used numbers from Wikipedia. In 2007, individual income tax was $1.1 trillion, payroll taxes were about $870 billion, and corporate income tax was $370 billion. I don't know which taxes you include in your "Federal Tax Free Holiday", but assuming these 3 are removed, the federal government would lose about $1.2 trillion in taxes. Then you drop tax brackets by 5%, so after the holiday is over, income taxes drop permanently. Then, drop capital gain taxes, small business taxes, and corporate taxes. Add this with the fact that our government is already spending more money than we bring in. Do you see a problem? You can probably drop some programs to even the balance. But can you drop about a trillion and a half dollars in government programs? I don't think you can. I like that you are throwing ideas out there, but this idea will only drive us deeper into debt (not that Obama's plan won't). Let me know if I have misunderstood your plan, but please remember you can't cut taxes without cuting spending.

I think this is an excellent idea. I see so many people boo-hooing about how the government cannot survive on less money. Here is the problem. You take Joe the Plumber and he has an average house, an average salary, and 4 kids. Guess what? Joe the Plumber HAS to make ends meet on what he brings in! This means Joe the Plumber has to pay his mortgage, his utilities, his car payments and insurance, buy food, buy gas, buy clothing and other essentials for his family, take care of maintaining the home, yard, cars, etc ALL ON HIS OWN. If and when he doesn't have enough income to do those things, then he must cut back, trim off here, trim off there. If he spends unwisely, then he just doesn't have money to waste any more. He doesn't get to spend money he doesn't have, force neighbors, friends and family to GIVE him money, or steal money from other people to support HIS lifestyle. I believe the GOVERNMENT needs to do this. If we the citizens do not want them spending 1.1 trillion dollars on NOTHING OF VALUE, then they shouldn't. If they do, they are unwise, deserve NO money from us in the form of taxes, and they should work for free. I don't think we should pay any taxes, period. The government WASTES everything they get on things that do not benefit any of us at all. They line their own pockets, they spend money on programs that have no reason to exist. They give free stuff to people who are not legally supposed to be here! Guess what? If that money was ONLY spent on legal citizens, making sure that ALL legal citizens had shelter, food, jobs, an education, medical care, transportation etc etc ETC FIRST, guess what? I think that the money would be able to help everybody! As it is, America is SO WORRIED about helping OTHER PEOPLE that we are stiffing our own citizens and guess who's hurting as a result? Our own citizens. Meanwhile we are being taxed for crap we don't even USE. The government needs to try working for free and then DESERVE our trust by doing what they promise while we don't give them ANYTHING. After they have proven they can stick to a reasonable and responsible budget and not spend ANYTHING they do not have, given by people who are only giving it to them FOR specific things, THEN they will deserve more money for more projects. Until then, they need to work within their means, and if they spend unwisely, then nobody should give them ANYTHING at all. WE can't go around spending loosely on nothing without repercussions, and the government definitely shouldn't either. In fact, their penalties should be stiffer, in my opinion. If they misuse or fraud people with their use of tax money, then government people should go to jail. They should lose their income, never be eligible for any pension or retirement, nothing. If they spend tax payer money on inappropriate programs, overhead, or themselves or give money to illegals INSTEAD of citizens, same thing. Jail, fines, and ousted from government. No wonder it's so corrupt, it KEEPS HAPPENING!!! AND NOBODY DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!! BUT WE ARE ALL SUFFERING!

Living, you have some good ideas, but you have some holes that need to be filled. I like the tax holiday, but I don't think six months is a good time frame, I would say do it for a month right around Feb, or March so people will spend their tax returns. The problem with cutting all of these taxes is it doesn't help anyone that doesn't have a job, if you don't have money to spend you don't have to worry about paying taxes. The other problem with just cutting taxes is if there is no demand for products, then why increase production? You have to have confidence in the economy, and in your job security before you will start spending. So you need spending on something besides tax cuts.

I think your plan must be review for the purpose just send it to the white house so that the president and adviser have study the plan.i believe that this will help a lot even do they cannot adopt it a whole but get some point on your plan because President Obama, as i remember he says that "every opinion is welcome to his administration to help remake the american economy" appreciate it my friend its a good idea

Cutting taxes is the best way of stimulating the economy. Chances of a government willingly giving up enough tax revenues to actually help? Pretty close to zero. In the UK, VAT (sales tax in the US I think) was reduced by 2.5% from 17.5% to 15% for two years. Of course, they are going to raise other taxes to compensate for this in the future, so that makes a big difference. Short term, they've probably caused more harm than good, due to the cost of software and printing changes required by businesses because of this. It's also unlikely that a saving of a couple of pence in the pound is really going to make people go out and buy things. If you can't afford something for a hundred pounds, a couple of pounds off will make little difference.
