Spaghetti or Pasta ?

thats a difficult question because i love spaghetti and pasta in all its size and shapes.

I like pasta...yes...pasta whit sauce,whit potatoes,with olive oil and parmesan...pasta...pasta...pasta!

Spaghetti IS pasta but it is long whereas the other shapes are called 'short'. I am in Italy and have been educated 'in loco'. The shape of the pasta should depend on what sort of sauce is being served with it. The shorter shapes with the ridges pick up the sauce better than the longer or smooth types. So spaghetti bolognese is fine as the fine meat in the sauce would go well with either whereas a plain basic tomato sauce is best with a ridged, shorter shape. That's how I prefer it too! I have never mastered the art of eating spaghetti properly either so it's a lot of messing about
