My mom is having a hard time letting me go. She wants to feel like she's still needed. When I move out and everything I'll be the last one out, my brother left a couple years ago. We're a close family so..I know she's trying to not show it, but I know it hurts her that I'm leaving soon.

yeah, i know the feeling. and maybe, you've got the real reason there, her feeling of not needed anymore. i can empathize with that. my eldest son is still 10, but wants to be independent already. just last week when they had their schoolyard camping, i went to visit and he told me, "mom, please don't come to me. i'll come to you if there's something i need." kinda hurt a little, but i understood. good luck to you then and just a word of advice, don't disappear completely.
