What's the one chore in your house you DREAD doing?

We all have to pitch in to keep the house neat and clean. I now understand that I have to carry almost all the burden because my son just isn't a cleaning person. So...going down the list of chores I have to do, I was wondering which one other people considers to be the one that would rather pawn off to someone else. Me...I'd have to say...putting away the clothes! I'm sorry, but that's the one thing I hate doing. I think it's because it's the daunting task of making sure everything is put away nice and neat. *Pleiades

Folding clothes is the worst. I'm totally with you on that one, nothing worse on earth!

I do not like dusting!!! I think it's because I just have so many things it takes forever!! I think after I move into a house it would be soooo much better! Get your son to help you out...you don't need to do everything! How old he is? Happy mylotting!!

Eeekkk! Dusting is a pain, I'll agree. But, one thing about dusting is you can take a cloth and zip zip through the house! *Pleiades

I despise taking out the trash. I also am not thrilled with laundry either. I am lucky however as my bf usually takes out the trash. He also gets in cleaning spurts here and there and helps out. I consider myself pretty lucky.

I don't like cleaning the garden and laundry area, specially if there are cat's poo which are very smelly and stinky. I really don't like stepping on soil which has different species of bacteria existing on it. hehehe

I could deal with all the forementioned things, it's the bugs I couldn't stand! I remember my mother's tomatoes and the size of the green worms or stuff on it...made me never want to eat the tomatoes. *Pleiades

Ironing - this is one task I dread and detest!..I don't mind the washing (machine), drying, folding, but the ironing is simply unbearable. I often postpone it until I don't have enough clothes for the working week.

Oh dear lord...I forgot about that task! When I was living at home with my parents, my mother always had me iron clothes. It wasn't a chore, it was just to make the clothes look nice. Granted, it does make the appearance better, but I got so anal about it, at one point I was ironing my kitchen towels. Then, I realized just how much time was being wasted doing that! So, I only iron if needed! *Pleiades

I don't do chores, I just keep my room tidy. But the one thing i HATE having to do, is make my bed. Like putting the mattress cover on and tucking it all under the mattress. I get so frustrated by it and it always ends up looking crappy. I refuse to ever do it when I move out.

*lol* Now, that's funny. Me, I love making my bed because there's something wonderful about slipping between nice sheets when you're going to bed. *Pleiades

The dreaded I word! That is I for, dare I say it noooooooo IRONING! That is the only chore in my home that I can't and won't do! I hate it, I am probably the only person who actually irons creases into the clothes, there are more creases after I have ironed the item of clothing than I started with. I will do anything else but not the ironing, when I lived alone I would only wear or buy non-ironed clothes, cheating I know but ironing is a dirty word.

I hate sweeping and cleaning the floors. I have to be on my knees to do it and its really painful and long process. Though it is said that its one of the best housework exercises to reduce belly fat I leave it to my hubby

Hi Pleiades, we have two big rambutan trees growing vigorously in my front courtyard. Of course there are lots of falling leaves on the lawn underneath every now and then. I usually would sweep them regularly either in the morning or in the evening. It’s really a tedious job as it is quite difficult to move the broom over the lawn to sweep the leaves which some of them would stick in between the grasses. So very often I have to pick up them using hands. It is really annoying that the yellowish leaves would keep on falling especially during the windy day. I have to do these monotonous sweeping more often then. The trees would give us delicious fruits and shade to make the environment cooler so I feel reluctant to cut them away Happy posting and have a nice day.

Right now, it's laundry. Our washers are down in the basement, and it's cold down there. In the winter, I tend to want t keep as warm as possible, so I find myself avoiding doing lundry in the winter...even if I didn't mean to, because it's cold down there, heh.

I dread cleaning the bathrooms. We're a family of seven and we have two bathrooms in this house... I really, really don't like cleaning the bathrooms. The teens are old enough to help me, so that's a good thing. There are, of course, times when it is my turn though. Blah. It'll be nice when the younger kids are old enough because then we can each be assigned a day of the week to tend to this chore. hehe

I agree with you. I don't mind making sure the clothes are washed and dried. I don't mind doing dishes or vacuuming, and I don't mind doing work in the yards. However, I can NOT stand to put the laundry away once it is folded. I have no idea why, but I hate it more than anything else I have to do...

Well, I dreaded scrubbing the floor because it requires more effort, but since I lived in a boarding house and my room is in the second floor with a wood floor, I have no choice but to scrub it once a week. But of course I felt relieved and exercised my body after doing that chore so I continue scrubbing my floor even if I don't feel it.

there are alot of things i do not like to do when it comes to cleaning around the house but i do them anyway. the fact is that if i do not do it most of it will get done. i hate cleaning the drain trap in the kitchen sink the most though. you know the trap that catches all the bits of food and stuff. it is so gross. i hate cleaning the bath tub too. the other stuff i can deal with.

I will make you a deal, I will put away all your clothes for you but, then you have to do the one chore that I Hate the most... For some reason when my husband or daughter comb their hair or take a shower there is hair in the drain. I hate it!!!! I can not let the drain clog and I can not afford drain-o every time. So, I have to take my finger's or tweezers or what ever works and dig or pull that hair out and put it in the trash! Many times I swear I pulled out enough hair to make a wig. Or, at least a hair piece. One looked like a cha chia pet. Anyways, the slim of toothpaste and shampoo & Conditioner make's it worse. Trade you! ** Peace and Love get's you through everything in Life **

That's easy. Cleaning the toilet. My day always says that my toilet is dirtier then the deepest darkest hole anywhere. He say's he's seen some bad ones too, but mine is by far the worst. I clean it too, but it never gets really clean. The shower is the other area that could use some attention. It's sorely neglected. :)
