Our Tradition and Culture.....

[b]Hi there friend. You are right we do have many traditions, beliefs and cultures. But it is something to be proud of. Every family have their own tradition that they pass to their own children and grand children. Some of them I do not follow, but some of them I still follow. Like saying “po” and “opo” I even pass that to my child. Also “pagmano” I always teach my child to give respect to elders. It is something to be proud of. Take care [/b][i][/i]

Thank God, there were positive influences. Respectfulness and hospitality. I hope the generation of today and the future could continue these traits.

Indeed, what we are as Filipinos depicts of what culture we have in our country. We can't deny the fact that our country is rich not only of the natural resources but also,we are rich of the cultures that our ancestors started. We are known for being hospitable though we do not know that person well, we do our best to entertain and for them to feel that they are very much welcome. Well there are lots of reasons whe we should be proud of our contry.

I only hope those endearing Filipino qualities will be preserved and practiced more and more. When I was working in a non-government organization visiting different places, I noticed that Filipino hospitality and "bayanihan" have somewhat lost their meanings in some areas. That if you want to really experience the true Filipino spirit of hospitality and bayanihan, you have to go to remote areas. I hope those practices from the rural areas will start spreading again in our urban settings.

Whatever traits we ever have from other countries its still our customs that we can be proud of. Knowing that foreigners amazed how we are as Filipino, how we treat other people... Those traits are still that we can be proud of :) Mabuhay ka pinoy!
