All world still remember the tragedy of September 11th. When I saw first news on TV about twin towers crush I thought that 3rd world's war has started. First news were stingy and we all were waiting for new turning-point. As I live in Europe I don't know anyone from my friends who have been near by the tragic spot. Would be interesting to hear people's stories who were near to it. Thanks!

At that time I was doing morning exercises in the playground of high school. The place I lived was far away from twin towers. When a classmate told me what had happened in the remote New York, I felt amazed and replied that it was absolutely impossible. I could not imagine such a horrible picture. When I watched the news later, I was shocked by the collapse of twin tower. I was sure that a war was inevitable and the current world order would change permenantly.

I was living in here in Alabama, and I was working at a warehouse that packed/unpacked items to go out for shipping. Anyway, we had a lady over us, Ms Pat; I'll never forget her coming to the area with a radio, and I have left that place and been back and the radio is still there. Anyway, on 9/11/01, she brought the radio out to our area, and we stood there hearing some very strange stuff. The first thing I heard was a plane flying into the Pentagon; If I could describe what I felt, all I could think about was when that plane took off from Washington National(now Ronald Reagan) and it crashed into the 14th Street Bridge. I thought a repeat performance went down; but this was more than that; then I heard of another crash in Pennsylvania; then yet another in NYC; now I have family in NYC and D.C. and it worried me. The minute break was called, I called home and the first thing that came out my father's mouth was did you see whats going on? that was a deliberate attack on this country; I had to agree. I was worried about my family there and told them to keep the lines open; Others had family there and called as best as they could. It was such a pretty day that day. but I came home to the tv preempting programs and them showing that plane hitting the building; My brother and sister called and said they were fine. My sister worked in downtown D.C. and had to leave. I had a cousin that worked in one of the WTCs, was on her way to work, heard the news and turned the cab around. She ended up retiring not long afterwards.

I was pulling into the courthouse. While inside, the ADA's father usually works at the trade center on tuesdays. So it was pretty pins and needles all morning. The case I was there on didn't go to well for the offender!

I was supposed to be in the train station at the world trade center. However the day before plans got changed at the last minute. I am in NJ and I was on my way to a client I heard it on the radio as the first plane it, and thought oh wow, this is the second time that building was under attack, that the buildings were a magnet for trouble some really bad luck and karma, yet at that time the news on the radio was still calling it an accident. Then when the second plane hit, things changed fast. I wonder now what would have happened if traffic jam hadn't been in place, if people who had family and friends there were driving how would they have reacted etc. But the traffic was stopped on that part of the Garden State Parkway at the time. I got to my clients house and it was on the news, and I thought it was crazy that this was happening. It took a while for me to register that there was not time to evacuate the much of the buildings. I think my mind didn't want to go to what that would mean. And to be honest the client I was meeting was the one I was supposed to be in NYC with at that time, and we were both grateful that plans were changed.

its intersting to know that when a major catestrophic event happens, people always remember where they were and what they were doing. i was actually at the hospital waiting to get an allergy test done with my then 4 year old daughter - she started junior kindegarten the next day. they had the tv on in the hospital and i saw someone i knew and asked him. hubby was on a business trip and we werent sure if he would be able to come home or not.
