Well can he be compared to Murali is the first thing which comes to mind. Mendis might be the fastest bowler to reach 50 wickets in ODI's but how can he be compared to Murali? First of all let him take take 700 test wickets & 500 ODI wickets. We should admire him for bowling six different deliveries of six diffrent balls. As he was new & the batsmen from other teams did not have the video footage of his bowling action he was a dangerous bowler in the beginning when he was capped. But now everyone knows his wrist action & easily readable.I dont think he will last as long as Murali has been in the team. What you guys think?

ajantha mendis is great bowler what distinguishes him from others is that his bowling style and ability to bowl different bowls and he keeps the batsmen guessing but time will tell whether he can create such an impact created by the muralitharan on cricket.

Ajanta Mendis is a good bowler. But he cannot be compared with the legend Muralitharan. Now-a-days most of the batsmen read mendis ball. So, it is not becoming easy for him to take wickets. Lets wait and see how travels in the world of cricket.

I personally think that it is too early to compare him with the legendary bowler of the Sri Lankan team. murli played for so many years and he was the key goal when it came to Sri Lankans spin bowling. He is a matchmaker and used to bowl huge spells in the test format of the game. And his contributions to the team is something which cannot be described in words. And he's playing for more than a decade I suppose so it is very early for the new bowler to be compared with the great legends of the Charente can spend attack. Let him settle down. Let him perform on a consistent basis and then we will be in a better position to judge whether the is a better bowler or not. And moreover murli has more than 700 wickets out of them and most of them are against good opposition is. So if he can do a better record than the legendary bowler than definitely he is greater than him. But I don't think that will be possible.

I think Mendis is a good bowler but i can not compare him with muralidharan. I think its takes lot more to claim 700 wickets in test cricket and 500 wickets in ODI. And also he can bowl equally good in 20-20. I can not compare him with murali.

Can u remember who held the world record for reaching 50 wickets the fastest before Ajantha Mendis broke it? It was a certain gentleman named Ajit Agarkar. Who doesnt even feature in the first fifteen of the Indian team. Its too early to say if Ajantha is a harse for a long race or just a flash in the pan. Murli is a seasoned veteran of the game. However much did the non asian countries try to negatively motivate him with allegations and controversies he always had his focus on the game. Yesterdays chucker is todays world record holder in all forms of the game. yes he i8s yet to break the record Wsim holds but its just a matter of a few days before he humbles that record too. Ajantha has started well with all signs of being a matchwinner but as you would see he has not been able to keep the pace up. Already he has had two matches where he bgowled the full quota of 10 overs and went wicketless. lets wish him the best and hope he does go ahead of murali. But for now Murali is the magician of the show.

Muthaian Muralitharan is the best. Ajantha Mendis is also good. Don't compare muralitharan and mendis they are good at their places.
