Here's your stimulus

With all the talk about the "stimulus" package, I thought it nessesary to put this up so everyone can see exactly what this is and does. This is basicly a "throw everything in while you can" bill, a hodgepodge of agenda, much of which has nothing to do directly or even indirectly with economic rescue and stimulus. SO, grab a pot of coffee (or a bottle of whisky) sit back and read through this collosal mountain of garbage, come back with your thoughts on portions of it, or all of it. And you should, after reading it, ask your rep why they voted yes on it, if they didn't vote for it, pat them on the back. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c111:1:./temp/~c111nHAAZe:e0:

Taking a quick scan the only thing I saw I liked was the requirement to use US Steel. Should have done that decades ago.

Now, I see why no republicans voted for this so called stimulus package. I have briefly read some of the proposed articles. I must say there is alot of pork or wasted revenue on bridges to no were. Shelter, feed, and give health care to the homeless, in other word Illegals will have a place to homstead. Not enough revenue for infrastructure development, not enough tax breaks for the working class, Not enough revenue to bail out the housing crisis. Shell I go on? What really chaps my hide is when Wells Fargo Bks., Bank of America, AIG Insurance groups giving themselves bonuses to CEO's, VP's, and Presidents. When these are the same Companies crying help just a few months ago. All this is, as I see it, a pre-election promise to share the wealth. Folks were in for a rough ride, in other words how far can we bend over because we are diffidently getting screwed. I am not in favor of this stimulus package as it reads now. There has to be more improvemts on this bill to make it workable.

What is needed to make this bill workable, is to remove it from the envelope and burn it.

What is the real reason for it. I would like to hear what you think? Did someone send a dictionary that gives them the definition of Stimulus?

How about some of the larger corporations? Typicaly, all benefits are for those who are already quite wealthy only....

What does family planning have to do with a stimulus package? I can see helping poor families but it seems much of this has to do with social engineering and getting something in through the back door. It sounds like a real mess. I think they should junk it all, and just concentrate on helping the living people. It is one big bloody mess. Oh you are right about most of it to do with economic recovery, in fact if they pass this bill, it will make things worse. Oh and us Canadians will see our dollar go down farther as well as our interest rate, because we are affected by what goes on down there in the States.

This bill should be called "our elected officials pet projects, lobbyist and special interest free for all". that is what it is. This will not help us at all. What ever happened to a "more responsible government"? This is not bail out or a stimulus plan it is highway robbery of american tax dollars. We are being robbed and no one is doing a damn thing about it. Least of all our elected officials. SOme can't because they do not have enough support to stop it, the rest well they are the robbers so that says it all right there. Can I press charges? Can I sue? Someone needs to be held accountable for this atrocity. I am going to go have a stiff drink (or a few). I can not believe the american public is letting them get away with it.

It's pretty much a large collection, all in one bill with everything they have wanted for a while and much more.

I'm actually really excited about the stimulus package. I'm a writer and the money will allow me to do some things I wanted to do to advance my writing career plus pay off some debt. There is nothing in the bill that I object to although I'm curious as to why some of it was included in the stimulus bill when it would have gone better in a bill on health care or children's education. My assistant, whose apparently more smart about these things than I am, just told me it was called a rider. That said, while riders may be off-color to some people (although I still like everything included in the bill) Republicans have been doing it for years. And yes, I know the Democrats did it before. It's a cycle. If we really want to eliminate this behavior, we need to stop allowing riders and make sure included in the bill is actually related to the bill.

Well, don't get too exited, it may be giving some people some thngs, but it is taking much more from us. Are you really so willing to sacrifice so much for the pittence this bill is handing out?
