friend's comments on profile.

I have noticed that there is a spot on our friends profiles to leave personal comments. In fact I have been the recipient of several nice comments on my profile. Some of these personal messages are so cute I have wondered where they come from. I, too, would like to be able to leave comments like that for my friends. I would also like to know the etiquette of leaving and receiving comments in our profiles. When we receive a comment from one of our friends how should we respond? Do we respond on their profile page or PM them with our response. I'm afraid my friends might have thought me rude because I did not acknowledge the comments that they left for me. I hope they will forgive me for not knowing how. Another thought comes to mind. When we receive a lot of comments it takes up a lot of space on our profile. Is there a way to make a folder to file these cards and wishes in or do we just have to delete some of them after a period of time?

I am not someone who deletes any friendly comments at all, but I may start to do so if they build up to a high number. The ones I WILL delete though are referral banners. As far as I am concerned, this is the number one etiquette rule - DON'T leave referral banners in someone's profile comments! I am not someone who goes around leaving lots of profile comments either. Maybe I should, but I just struggle to find the time. I will try to leave comments on friends profiles at times of the year like Christmas and New Year's and will also occasionally add something silly to someone's profile if the mood takes me; but this is not a common practice on my part. There is no storage folder option that I am aware of either, so you will have to delete some of the older ones if you are finding your profile loading times affected.

Oh, I hadn't thought about it affecting the loading times. But then how would I know since my whole computer has begun to load so slowly. I did enjoy seeing those notes from my friends but I didn't know if they expected a response or not. It actually had just occurred to me that I might have violated some mylot etiquette by not responding. I wouldn't want any of my friends to feel slighted or that I didn't care. That is why I started this discussion in a way, to let my friends know that I appreciate them even if I am clueless at times.

Have you turned off all your notifiers again or have you just not started any discussions recently? Of course I guess the system could just be glitzing again.

You can leave them a comment on their profile and it will show up on their profile page. You can also just PM them and thank them.

Sometimes I think I make my point to obscure in my discussions. You are the first one to pick out the main point. Thanks so much for the clear answer.

I normally put back my comment to their profile page, once I noticed received their comment on my own friend's comment sortie. I never bother for what they wrote or embed their content for me, and I understand for what you mean about this issue. Matter of fact, friend's comment sortie only displayed 10 commentaries and the rest stayed or embedded as hidden comments. But don't worry, if you don't like it just delete your friend's comment sortie, as an option to do that way, provided by myLot operating system.

As you develop closer friendships with your mylot friends I'm sure some of them will send you comments on your profile. Even in real life not all people are given to sending cards even for special occasions. But there are those who send cards all of the time.

hi..receiving comments from friends is ver overwhelming. me, i also delete them after maybe 1 month of being there in the comment box so i can have space for new ones and i know your friends would understand it and would not take it personally.

That was what I was looking for, some kind of time line to go by when housekeeping.
