guitar - acoustic type - Buying a guitar can be an intimidating process, especially if you've never purchased one before. There are so many factors to consider, and so many guitars available, novices will surely feel overwhelmed. Fear not - help is available.
In this case, it is better for you to get professional guidance to own one best from top ten in the list. Especially when we do talking about guitar for acoustic type. I hope you discern yourself about this kind of string instrument from this web pages and many choices for you to select. The link is; http://guitar.about.com/od/acousticguitar/tp/top5acoustics.htm

well it really depends on what kind of stuff you are going to be playing and how much you want to spend

Well I do not want to play anything heavy as I am just learning to play and I have a very low budget of around rupees three thousand i.e. like $60 in US currency.

hi there, There are many different types of guitars on the market these day, and it can be rather confusing on what kind of guitar to buy. Taking a trip to your local music store is a good place to start. Talk to an experienced guitar salesman and he will be able to advise you. If you are on a strict budget, you may be able to pick up a good used guitar after you have decided what kind you like. Good luck in finding one you want ~proudnana~

As you have made clear in your post that you dont no much about guitars and cost is an important factor for you... and you stay in India Its important that you goto a trusted showroom in your city (prices would be higher, though) but you wont end up buying a beautiful looking fake. Or if you dont know a trusted store better request someone who knows how to buy a guitar, you can even ask any neighbourhood guitar trainer about his classes and then where to buy a guitar in your area. Also dont make the mistake of buying a guitar because it looks "cool". And dont go for a high end guitar straightaway I would recommend hobson as it's good value for money (starts frm 1500Rs)

To learn on you do not need to buy a brand name guitar. I started playing on a Vester (I think thats what they were called) got it for $50 and it was totally worthless. But it sounded okay and it was very easy to play. A few years later I upgraded because I decided to continuing playing the guitar. In your case maybe you will dislike it hence it wouldnt be a good idea investing too much money in your first guitar. If you want a brand name guitar get one from their daughter companies or whatever its called :) Like how Gibson has Epiphone, ESP has LTD etc. My first "good" guitar was the Epiphone Gothic Explorer. Good luck! :) ps. Playing Caparison now, with LOVE :D
