have you ever been tired of writing?

Until yesterday, this had never happened to me for anything longer than an hour or so. But after my crazy posting attempts here (which I succeeded at) the written word has no attraction for me. This is bad because I have a story due tomorrow. Thankfully, it's mostly written and just needs an ending. How about you? Have you ever been tired of writing? How did you wake up the muse again?

Yes, I've been burned out by writing when our household income had fallen very low and it scared me. So, for a week straight, I worked like crazy day and night to set up a safety net in our bank account. It worked, but it burned me out to the point of not wanting to continue working my regular schedules the following weeks. I remedied the situation by only focusing on what I "had" to do for assignments and meeting deadlines, and I left everything else alone - no forum posts, no mylot activity, no random blog posts - nothing. I wrote in my paper journal all through that, too, and managed to get myself back on track.

well, i guess you could say that. i was writting short non fiction articles for years and have stopped doing that because i turned my creativity into a different direction (arts and crafts) and well, now i am starting the get the writing bug again. for me, it seems to come in waves! as for you, i would suggest that you not be too hard on yourself. turn your attention to something else for a short while.
