This new White House staff is looking like a who's who of tax evasion. Sheesh I missed $400 on my taxes once for some stock I cashed and the IRS came after me in a hurry. How in God's name do these jokers run up $34,000 and $140,000 with no issues? As with Geithner, he had no intention of paying this until chosen to be head of the Health and Human Services Department. "Former Sen. Tom Daschle, picked by President Barack Obama to lead his health reform efforts, recently filed amended tax returns to report $128,203 in unpaid taxes and $11,964 in interest, according to a Senate document obtained by The Associated Press." "On January 2, 2009, Senator Daschle filed amended returns for 2005, 2006 and 2007" http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090131/ap_on_go_pr_wh/daschle_taxes Do any of the democrats here on mylot mind that Obama is appointing people who don't pay their taxes to such high positions? Democrats often complain that the rich have all the money and pay none of the taxes. I often argue that statement, but Geithner and Daschle are shining examples of that statement. Why then aren't these democrats opposed to their confirmations?

It doesn't surprise me. He seems to be making it habit to appoint those with questionable characters. I do find it hypocritical that he appoints someone who owes so much in taxes and yet look at all the hype that was made when Joe the Plumber owed like $1000 in taxes...he was just about labeled scum for owing that. I have noticed that anyone that dares to speak out against him or question anything about him is automatically a racist, a hater and/or stupid and blind. Some of the ppl I've heard talking about him seem to think he is on the verge of parting the waters. Hubby has a solution to the whole Messiah thing though...put him to the test...kill him off and see if he rises after 3 days LOL Seriously, I think ppl are putting so much faith into him and they are going to be in for a huge disappointment. He lied his way into the White House and now he's lying his way along. It's just too bad that more ppl didn't wake up and see the truth before voting for him. Not to mention that now that he's in there, it'll probably take an act of God to get him and his cronies out of there. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

Joe the Plumber questioned the messiah. Anyone who dares to do such a thing is to be destroyed. That's why it's ok that Obama's minions illegally investigated him. You'll notice that Obama didn't have a word to say about the Helen Jones-Kelley mess. That woman who interviewed Biden got similar treatment, although the only dirt they could dig up on her was that she didn't "regularly" interview politicians.

Is there a single person in the Obama Administration who isn't a crook?

KennyRose - Have you checked out Ray LaHood. I believe he is honest. At least it has never come to my attention that he is otherwise.

I heard that Tony Resco Wants to amend his taxes to avoid paying taxes so he can be appointed Sect of Housing and Urban Development. It seem he paid all his taxes and is now trying to find some thing he overlooked so he can pay back taxes as that seems to be the number one requirement to get a Cabinet Position.

Al Franken didn't pay his taxes either. Maybe if he loses the senate race to Coleman he'll be the next cabinet member for Obama.

Perhaps Obama believes the proverbs "There is honor among thieves" or "Set a thief to catch a thief”. I bet there is not a closet big enough to keep all the skeletons in our government!

I guess this is one way to help the economy. If enough people who owe back taxes keep getting nominated they will then have to pay the government what they should have already paid. maybe this is how we are going to get ourselves out of these tough financial times. Funny how these people who "forgot" to pay their taxes are the people we are putting in charge of solving the financial crisis.

That's something like I was going to say! Keep appointing crooks and as they pay up, the government will have enough money to bail out the rest of the country! LOL

I have noticed this one, and it does make you wonder how they can just casually forget to pay their taxes and nothing is done, while many others forget even a small thing and it gets noticed right away. To think that they would owe almost $12,000 just in interest is beyond me. This is getting crazy. But I guess though in a way it is a Good thing that these people were chosen so their behind Taxes are finally paid. If they can get away with it, it makes me wonder how many millions of others out there are behind and have never been caught yet as well.

Hello Taskr, How can this not be viewed as a glaring example of the DNC support of a 'two-tiered justice system'; one for us and one for them. Rudyard Kipling said it best when he said: "Never the twain shall meet". Just let one of the common folk try to get away with not paying their taxes. Does anybody remember Ed Brown and his wife from NH? How long did the fed's hang out outside their home, armed for bear, because they failed to pay their taxes??? Oh wait! What about Wesley Snipes? From among the ranks of the rich and famous, a tax-cheat is sentenced to prison time for tax evasion. Wesley's shortcoming must have been that he hadn't bowed down at the feet of our new president. Geesh, a little schmoozing with Illinois crooks and Wesley might just have saved himself millions and avoided jail time. Now let's see; what cabinet post could Obama have offered good 'ol Wesley?

He did pay them, though. I'm not sure why the IRS didn't catch it. If one of us missed paying even a penny, they'd catch it immediately!

Yeah, I missed paying a few hundred dollars in 2007 from some stock I cashed in. They wasted no time sending me nasty letters telling me how I would have to pay it all back with interest. Of course, they were telling me I owed thousands because they were treating it as pure profit, as opposed to the actual profit based on what I bought it for versus what I sold it for. Either way, it took them about 6 months to come after me and these jerks can go for years without issue.

As during the election, it's easier for them to bury their heads in the sand. At best you'll see the "Give him a chance" post. These guys had plenty of "chances" to pay their taxes before they were appointed by Obama.
