Do you have a Hard Disk in your TV? How far it is useful? Is it necessary?

First, have you heard of a TV having Hard Disk? If you own one, do you record the programs on your Hard Disk and watch them later? Or do you think it is worth for paying it? I personally think, if it has a DVD writer or CD writer with it, it will be more useful. Please share your views.

We have TIVO with DirecTV. We record lots of programs when we can't be around to watch them. And, if we want, they can be recorded on a VHS tape or a CD and saved. We sometimes keep certain things on the TIVO to watch over and over.
