As I have been working on a writing project, I have come across in my research quite a few interesting people, but I read some work tonight by Abbie Hoffman...Steal this Book. I would say the book opened my eyes to a great incite from someone who was very active in making a difference.
I think even if you don't care for him, you should appreciate his passion. I just thought I would throw that out there. I know it opened my eyes to a few things and allowed me to see things in a new light.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Haven't heard that name in awhile! If you liked the book, you might also like the movie about him which is appropriately titled "Steal this Movie."
Though the movie isn't trivial, there is some interesting trivia with it...."Steal this Movie" is the second most stolen movie. (Clerks is #1)
The actor who plays the part of Tom Hayden is Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda's real life son.

While I could never bring myself to steal the book I bought a case of them and gave copies to just about everyone I knew back then. Abbie Hoffman was one of many leaders of sixties and seventies activism who helped the rest of us activists accomplish great things and hope for a great future. Sadly, he and many others sold out to corporate greed and the rest of us over-aged hippies were left to make it work in our little corners of the world among our own groups of people. I still fight the good fight, and I'm proud to know many others who do, too, but we're few and far between. I hope the spirit of hope ushered in by Obama's presidency will reslt in a resurrection of much of the old spirit of making the world a better place!!!

Thank you so much for your response. I can't share the same thoughts of the current leader of the free world, but I do know Abbie Hoffman gave me great insite on how to make my book work to create a stir and move forward.
I am glad you still fight the good fight, some of still do.
