Do you know anyone that watches tv on the computer or though their computer to their tv?I saw a thing on tv about this on Good Morning America today. We can watch tv, movies and all through the computer even to our own tv's with a cable connected between the two. The HBO and those channels and with using a black box and antenna outside and using rabbit ears we can watch the local stations. Can someone tell me the channels you actual get? They said over 50 of them. I'm interested in this as it would save me close to $100 a month. Do you know anything about this?Tell me please. Thank you for responses.

That's what the "black box" is for I think...if I understand what they were saying on tv this morning. They go through things so quickly and I don't really understand it all. Is the balck box thing a tv tuner?

Personally for me, since I spend so much time on my Computer here in myLot or checking Email, etc. I do not think this is one thing I am really interested in. But I do Love being able to go on my Computer and catch up on some of my favorite shows from time to time if I end up missing them as well. Since you can now get a lot of them in there, and sometimes many more than just recent ones, it could save you $$ on buying these in the future as well.

Yes, we all use our computers and wouldn't want to give them up for tv shows or movies, lol. But having another computer to be able to use for that purpose would be nice. I have never watched tv on the computer. I have watched a movie on it before. Thank you.

If there's no choice, then okay. I watch a movie on TV or the computer. My sons do the job for me on the computer. Personally I prefer going to a theatre to watch a movie.

I'm talking about getting all tv shows that I watch on the computer to cut out the satellite bill every month. The GMA show they said to have unlimited movies we could use netflix for $10 a month. That is so much better than almost $100 a month.

I've watched movies through my computer a couple of times. I just hook it up to my tv and it seems to work just fine. I use cinemanow.com you have the option of renting or buying any movies out on this site. I've tried the tv online sites and haven't got any of them to work! I think those are probably crap. Not positive for all of them though. I've downloaded probably 5 that haven't worked.

I feel the same way. Not only that the monitor is way to small for everyone to sit and watch. That's why watching them with a cable going to the tv interested me and made this viable for me. As you see in the picture I have a big tv I can use. I hope.

At the university I go to we don't have cable, but instead we have this thing called IPTV, which is with all the regular television channels and works just like normal TV but on the computer. For over 180 channels through Verizon, I think it's 39.95 a month. There's more details about it here: http://www.tvover.net/Service,detail,2-1.aspx At the website tvover.net it has tons of listings of different providers and the prices.

Sorry the link I gave you is for a specific type of IPTV, but it's pretty easy to navigate from there to the listing of all of the different providers and services. Let me know if it works out!

okay reiny. I just have to research it a bit and get some feed back from others that use it. I wouldn't want to cut out satellite and then not be able to get the channels that I wacth most of the time.

I watch alot of tv shows on my PC. Mostly Bones, CSI and Perry Mason. Their all free. Ther is a site...not sure what it is...that you pay $50 one time and you get all kinds of tv stations and movie channels you can watch. Hubby and I were looking into it. Really you have to pay for watching. On the GMA show they said it was free. You just have to purchase different items for the home so you can watch.

Hi moondancer,I have had emails about signing up to watch television on the computer.I did not check it out because I have a laptop and I don't want to watch tv on such a small screen where I have to be right on top of it..I also wondered how it would affect the electric bill. I don't know anyone that does this. I only have one computer,so I could not watch tv and do things on the computer at the same time.I would not like that as I have my tv on while I am on the computer. I hope you find out what you want to know.

I'm the same way as you mc, but I do have an extra desktop that I could use if I figure this out. Not having to pay that fee every month for satellite would be wonderful

I always watch movies with my computer, I think that I get better quality with my computer screen that with the TV. I also use the TV tunner card. Once I take a trip with my friends saved into a VCR cassette and save it into digital format for computers and then I convert it to DVD, so that way I can always watching in any dvd player. All that with a simple TV tunner.

lol, that's what I was thinking. I want to cut out the satellite bill if I can. I just want to make sure the shows we watch are on the thing before I change to it. And learn more about it and getting started with it.
